Yes, there are some alerts for issues collecting data. One of the most common problems is the provider stops responding to the agent. To alert on this, * Check the Event Monitor for a generic trap that says "Both secure/unsecure WBEMClient connection failed: Unable to connect". * Edit the trap and set the severity level of…

Can you clarify - are you turning on the WMI in Orion? A screenshot would be helpful. To get the full benefit of the integration, you need to monitor the VMware or Hyper-V environment from both Orion and VMan. For VMware environments, this will show you the structure (VC, DC, Cluster, Host, VM) and some of the VMan data,…

Anthony, I'll get this escalated.

Currently no, but I've added to our Feature Request forum and you can vote on it here:

SCM only focuses on changes to servers, not switches or routers - try NCM for that. To see a report on server config changes, simply go to Reports in the menu bar and then search for "Server Config" and these reports should show up: You've got 3 reports, the config changes for in the last 24 hours is the one I think you…

Hi, you can see how to disable the 8123 port here: Success Center: Turn off HTTP traffic in DPA (Port 8123) If 443 is already being used, I don't know how you'd accomplish what you are trying to do.

It creates logical collections of file types (extensions) that allow you to run reports for "Media Files" or "Document Files" so you can see how much of that type of data you have in your environment. There about 15-20 pre-defined file groups in Storage Manager, grouping 200+ common file types - but you can alter these and…

There should be no changes for this report in 5.0, so please file a support case. Brian

Virtualization Manager's Cloud Cost (EC2) dashboard leverages trends to put together a dshboard that can calculate the cost of your virtual infrastructure on Amazon. Some good references: * Link to a detailed blog post on how to build chargeback or showback - Creating a Chargeback Dashboard With Virtualization Manager *…

Brian, if you click on the help link, it takes you to the success center. On the left side of that page there are links to thwack there too. We changed the link to make sure users were finding the success center. A different question - if DPA had better integration with thwack, what would you want it to do?
-
Hi, and welcome to DPA! On that page, if you click the Learn More button (to the right of Typical Day), it has detailed info on the SQL Typical Day view. Take a look at that and then let us know if you have additional questions. Cheers!
-
Sounds like you have everything configured right - have you contacted support? Note that we just added the EOC 1.6 RC to the customer portal. I don't remember a bug fix for a problem like this, but wanted you to know it was available. Thanks Brian
-
SQL 2017 isn't officially supported yet, but we expect it to work without issue and we will support you. We do plan to officially support it in a future release (no timing available).
-
What device is sending alerts? There are a few devices that have some built-in rules that you have to disable from the wrench, not the policy.
-
Troy, Thanks for the question. The historical charts will allow you to see how the query is behaving over time for each day, and what kinds of waits in encountering. It doesn't allow you to drill into a day, but at the bottom is has the typical day, which shows you how much wait time this query has hour by hour. Is that…

Did you ever figure this one out? Note we have a product that monitors NetApp filers directly - SolarWinds Storage Manager. Brian
-
Take a look at this article: Configure Active Directory or LDAP - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support Let us know if you additional questions.
-
Not at this time. I have added this as feature request that you can vote on. Brian

Tim, We don't support our agent on OpenFiler, although it seems you are getting information from it. We do not get iSCSI information from Linux at this time, although it is very interesting to us. Brian
-
Hi, We currently don't support LPAR or VIO directly in any of our products. SAM and STM can monitor individual instances, but have no visibility into the virtual infrastructure or how these instances are interrelated. If you are interested in SolarWinds support these technologies, you can vote for it here Brian
-
Mike - thank you for reporting the problem, we are researching it now. SolarWinds doesn't have a bug finder reward system, other than the bug potentially getting fixed. Thanks again for the info.
-
Can you post a couple of screenshots of what you are trying to do?
-
Most issues with cookies and certificates can be found here: SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: VMan Loading Error in Orion Web Console If all your virtual resources are set up on both the Virtualization Manager and Orion side and you are still seeing this error, try restarting the Orion services. Let us know if you need more…

There is not an ERD for Profiler, however, you can do a view source on any report you run and see the SQL statement for the report. You can use this as a base to build the query you want. Brian
-
Tom, The Virtualization Manager upgrade bug was seen only on a few upgrades, and we do have a fix for it - please let me know if yours is still down. STM does not get NFS performance data on VMware datastores at this time. Brian
-
What version of the EMC Provider are you using? Have you changed any passwords or IP addresses lately? If you have made no environmental changes and the restart does not solve the issue, go ahead and contact support.
-
VMware 5.1 is fully supported.
-
You have a corrupted table (tt_cim_computer_system) that is having trouble repairing itself. You can repair it by logging into MySQL and running a "repair table tt_cim_computer_system". If that doesn't work, go ahead and enter a support ticket.
-
This is a known issue, and we are looking to address it in a future version. Brian

Howdy You might take a look at our permission document on page 16 http://www.solarwinds.com/support/profiler/docs/ProfilerSec.pdf It covers the permission requirements for Profiler to collect VMware data. In general, we recommend 200-300 VM per agent. Brian
