Storage Manager can periodically analyze the files on local drives and shares (NFS and CIFS), giving you both summary data (by age, ownership, type) and detailed file meta data (based on your file rules). We don't monitor access (how much a file is being accessed or who accessed it last), but we do get information on…

What we get from SMI-S provider is cumulative counters. When 15 minutes frequency is used, we get two samples 15 minutes apart and take the difference. Now if you take any of the xxx/sec values, these will be an average on the 15 minute interval. It will not catch the peaks that happened within those 15 minutes. SMI-S…

You can see it with other products running on the demo server.

When you are monitoring via the listener, you will just see the statuses from the AG's that that have the same primary replica as your listener. All other AG's will show grey (unknown) and there will be no links to their primary if we are not monitoring those instances. So in the case below, we are monitoring via the…

Here are a couple references for our AG functionality: * DPA 11.1 Availability Groups, SQL 2017, Oracle 12.2 and Amazon Subscription * DPA 11.1 feature: Improved monitoring of SQL Server Availability Groups If you are monitoring each instance in the cluster, when you drill down to the AG status and the current instance is…

What version of IE were you using?

@"m_roberts" - happy you are enjoying the new GUI, and we are happy to move on to improving current features and adding new ones going forward. Sharing filter, searches and other content in SEM is something we are considering for the future, but nothing we are working on yet. Keep voting for the features you are interested…

Thanks for the feedback - check out the EOC - What We Are Working On for info on improvements we are planning for the EOC interface and how we handle users. Brian

We can only say we are working on it, we can't give delivery dates... but if there is a beta listed in the post at the top, you can sign up and learn what's in the beta.

We can't share timelines, but we are definitely interested in supporting PostgreSQL, Make sure you vote for PostgreSQL here: Add DPA support for PostgreSQL.
-
We are still working on the above items - anything you are looking for that you don't see?

You can vote for PostgreSQL here:

We are following the same process as pre-acquisition, so the What We Are Working On post is still the best place to see our roadmap.

If you need metrics in your report, vote for this idea

The list of databases currently supported for monitoring are here: Database instances DPA can monitor We do stop officially supporting the monitoring of older versions as the vendor stops supporting them, but in general, we do expect them to continue to work (but no guarantees). Any changes to supported databases list in a…

DPA 2019.4 is compatible with DPAIM 11.1 and later, so check your version at the bottom of your Orion home page. See the DPA Installation and Upgrade Guide for more information. As mentioned above, if you are changing the DPA server name, IP address, or credentials, you will have to recreate the integration, which will…

Hi EOC users! A long time coming, but you can now sign up for the beta of EOC 2.0, which is based on the Orion core. More details to follow.

No, STM does not allow you to take action on files. Brian

Karim, We have announced support for the VNX in our upcoming release: You can see what else we have coming in the future with the "What we are working on" post: Brian
-
Not necessarily. DPAIM is packaged with SAM to make it easy to integrate, so you could see DPAIM in the list of modules even if you don't have DPAIM. If you have DPA, and integration is turned on, you should see Databases under My Dashboards.

Can you post the query you are trying to execute?
-
No, its not in the 6.7 beta. If you join the beta forum, you can see the features that are in the beta. Cheers!
-
Thanks for the interest. We can't promise a specific version, just that we are looking at if for a future release.
-
You'll have to log into the portal to find out for now But as soon as I can officially announce the newly supported arrays, I will.
-
Yes, it is on the list. Brian

Hi, We don't have an option to have multiple agents on one server. I am not sure why you want to do this. In general, you deploy more agents if you want to 1) Monitor that physical server 2) Spread the load of monitoring Arrays, VMware, switches to multiple agents (or multiple locations/networks). It sounds like you want…

Virtualization Manager does not currently support pulling VMware events, but it is something we are considering for a future release (no timetable at this time). You can directly monitor hardware status via SAM (Server and Application Montor). Let me know if you have additional questions. Brian

Do all of the hosts have VMs that are thin provisioned? In general, the Storage Manager reporter tries to show options that are available in the data of the report.
