Took the survey, do not use any of those on the list. I do use the Spiceworks community on the reg.

Someone might want to update the Terms and conditions. The dates are all wrong and the prize listed is a Macbook Pro. "On May 4, 2015, three (3) winners will receive an Apple MacBook Pro"

I have a great network of trusted IT advisors\ professionals. It's called Spiceworks Community. Millions of IT professionals at your finger tips. The community is so great, I can even post questions about solarwinds and get help faster than a support ticket or the thwack community (sorry but its true). I am an active…

This was #8 on the survey

Migrated Assets to Move to the Cloud? Whaddya mean? Doesnt Move to cloud mean "Migrate to cloud"? Or maybe this means MIgrate your already migrated stuff to another cloud provider? I left if blank because I was confused.
-
We do have a sam license so I did select that one. We do already have a VMan server, so I selected that one. It was not clear that it was going to install the entire server application at that time. I must have been confused and assumed that this meant Vman integration.

+1 This would be great. I am struggling to learn the complex methods of adding and monitoring nodes. So far I am confused and quite annoyed by the way you have to create a node then RDP into the server to setup alerts.
-
IMO it is not working very well, or at least I have not found it to be useful for what I was seeking

After 72 hours and several calls to Solarwinds Support, our answer was found in this thread. I was shocked that the support person could not answer a simple question about a Basic alert. The question was: What does the Basic Alert "Node Status" use to determine a node is UP, DOWN or WARNING.

Very pretty, looks like it is color blind friendly (seriously, I am colorblind and I like it). Now if there were only a real colorblind "theme".

Where does it say this has been integrated? http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/orion/docs/releasenotes/releasenotes.htm

Please take a minute and add this bit of information to your article (and GNS website). It stands for Graphical Network Simulator. I know I am not the only one who had no idea what this stood for. Seems like on their own website it would tell you what it is. I guess you have to be "in the know" to use this product.

Thanks, this is just what I was looking for. I just needed this info to get approved for the upgrade. We are currently on NPM 10.5 and SAM 5.5.0 Thanks

So what was the fix for the 100% CPU usage issue? I just installed this on a new VM and no matter how many CPU's I throw at this thing, it is using 100%. It's gotta be a bug right? I have the latest version with the hotfixes included. I cannot even RDP into the machine to shutdown the services. This was from the 12.2…

After contacting support, It was pointed out that the NPM installer installed SAM and VMan all on the same server. This caused the server to be WAAAAY under spec for resources. I threw 4 more cpus and 32GB or RAM to make it happy.

Survey Complete. I did it.

It may be user error on my part, or it could be there is no info on the topics I was searching for. I was looking for a few things recently and was not able to find relevant info from the success center. One of my issues was not even possible after speaking to support (it was to use OU's in LEM --instead of groups).…

I got it worked out. It ended up being a PEBKAC error. Once I carefully reviewed everything, I realized there was a typo. Thanks

I have it setup, however it is not sending email alerts. I have pulled the ethernet cable several times and within the website it shows it as DOWN. Here is a screen of my setup: Note: in the first image it is a Complex Condition. I have also tried it as a simple condition with Node Name. Neither has sent an email alert. We…

I couldn't resist.

Beautiful. This is exactly what I needed. Thank you curtisi!

Just another hidden easter egg in the latest and greatest version. I have not received and alert in over 2 weeks and support is "still reviewing logs". I wish for more transparency with the SW products (the good the bad and the bugly).
-
Currently, No, this is not using any groups at all. This is for 8 services on a single server. Are you suggesting I add the component monitors to a group and then create the alert to look at the group status? how would my alert trigger condition look? I did not see any Component Group option listed there.

Thanks for the info. I will make a good backup and give it a shot on my orion server.

lynchnigel wrote: We was having a similar issue and what seems to have solved it is the IIS settings where he set it to the correct certificate for the website. We are using server 2012 R2 We just have Type HTTPS Port 443 and IP address set and the SSL certificate set This one worked for me. I had a fresh install of 12.2.…

Is there a knowledge base of known bugs for each version? I am trying to build a case to upgrade to NPM 12 and we have several issues currently, I need to know if these are bugs and if the upgrade will resolve our issues. Support was able to tell me to upgrade, but could not provide any docs to go with their suggestion. I…

Curtis, Thank you for the wonderful response. I did follow your suggestion for nDepth to see which ones were sending out emails. However, it did not return any results. Here is a screen shot: I ran it for each time frame from 2 hours to a week with zero results. Perhaps I did something wrong? Anyway, after thinking about…

Update: I missed the part of your post about your customer. I would still pitch it to them and see if it is something they wanted to budget for.

Hmm, good question. I guess we are, it's in Vmanager (and Vman is integrated with NPM). Although, I am only interested in the Temperature monitoring and alerting for now.
