Hi Danielle, I completed the July Monthly Mission last week via my iPhone, and have not seen my points updated. I was going to message you but I am not able to add you as a friend apparently...so I thought I would reply here... Thanks, bmills99

Sorry what I meant say is that I reran the SAM 5.2 full install...which in turn kicked off the config wizard.
-
My case number is 279565.
-
Actually I am moving forward and rerunning the configuration wizard on my primary poller (the affected server) to get the JobEngine v1 reinstalled on the server. I take it once this has been completed I will go through this process again.

Talked to Solarwinds tech support today concerning this issue. At this time it looks like we found a permissions issue. We recently moved our polling servers to one of our corporate domains. I am working out the permissions issues and will test the my alert again once this has been worked out. Adrian in tech support also…

Mathew, Yes, that is what they are asking, I was directed to uninstall JobEngine (v1 and v2) and the Collector, and rerun the installers for these. I performed the uninstall on both job engines and the collector, but when I ran the .msi for the job engine v1 I get an error and it will not reinstall the software... any…

This is an actual alert not a test...

Jeff, I did as you asked and set up a monitor on a non-critical windows service on one of my additional pollers. I modified the alert like you asked as well. The trigger conditions are as follows: Trigger Alert when all of the following apply Component Type is equal to 9 Component Status is equal to Down Node status is…

Is the documentation for this still current? I am having issues setting up the UDP for these devices.

aLTeReGo, Many thanks for the update, I have reviewed the email from Erica and had a couple of questions concerning the fix. I need to clarify the procedure to replace the job engine and collector. Once I have this information I will roll out the hotfix again and let you know how it goes. Best regards, B

Many thanks for the assistance! Here is the alert trigger: This generates the following email: Subj: OST HDC NOC - Orion Critical Alert: ${ComponentName} on HOUPDC is ${ComponentStatus} This application component status has changed: 8/18/2011 10:28 AM Application Name: ${ApplicationName} Application Component Name:…

I apologize for the delay in posting back on this issue. First, thanks for responding, and to answer your question, yes I was able to get this issue resolved. I uninstalled the version of Network Atlas I was working with and downloaded the most current version from your web site and installed that...which totally resolved…

Thank you all for your response. I checked this morning and I was able to hit the customer portal using IE with no issues. I was using Chrome when I submitted my original post. My apologies for not trying with a different browser before posting. Best regards, B

Jeff, thanks for the quick response! The 'Program to execute' field contains the following: "C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Orion\APM\APMServiceControl.exe" ${ComponentId} ( my pollinger server is running Windows 2003 SP2 32bit) Also, I do not recall seeing the APMServiceControl in the task manager when this alert was tested.…

Matthew, Many thanks! Exactly the information I needed. Best regards, B

Here's how the alert is currently triggered...HDC is a custom property we set up on our nodes...
-
Matthew, Many thanks! After a closer look at the logs, that's exactly what is occurring with our https monitors. I have downloaded the hotfix and I am currently rolling it out to our polling servers. I will let you know how it goes. Best regards, Bryan

Our main summary view is one of many that are used in displaying our current environment. We have a NOC area where we have three 60" displays pointed to our web console displaying the Alerts page, a process/application specific view and a view showing all volume alert, and down and critical applications...
-
This can be accomplished by using your 'Advance Alert Manager' application on your primary polling server, and building your alerts based upon the current node properties or any custom properties you currently have set up for your nodes. As far as the nodes being SNMP enabled or having RO/RW comunity strings, if you are…

Thanks for the quick response, the target node in question is in a DMZ, I will check to ensure I am able to hit the website from the Orion polling server this node is assigned to...

All, I have open case #386852 on this issue. I received the following update today: Per Solarwinds support rep: Just heard that development has confirmed that this is a bug and that they are creating an internal case for it. I will let you know when I hear more about when it will be fixed. Best regards,

I am using Firefox latest version: The normal tool tips I see for application monitors looks like this: As I stated I can get tooltips on the Alerts page for NPMs that are like the one below: but the Alerts for APM items I do not get... My apologies for the delay in posting a response. Any assistance/suggestions on this…

I use Firefox for the most part but will use IE at times...

Yes, you can use the 'Custom Property Editor' application on your primary polling server to add custom fields to your node properties. If these do not show up in your current node details view, you may have to edit your current view to include the 'custom properties' web resource in your current node details view. Best…

Many thanks to SW support for assistance with this issue. Upon working with support it was found that the file monitor was attempting to check the existence of a file on the target node on a path that was not valid. My apologies, I thought I had tested this before I opened support case. Sorry about that and best regards. B

Thanks to all who replied to this thread, we resolved the issue with our HTTP monitors. The hotfix worked as it should. There was an issue on our side when the hotfix was applied which caused the issue. Thanks again for the input! Best regards, B

I forgot to mention that, we (solarwinds support and I) have looked at the windows logs and application logs on my primary poller and could find no issues that would be a smoking gun. I am in the process of pulling diagnostics on the primary poller.

Matthew, The monitors basically stopped working. They would not poll at all. I attempted to manually test some of the APMs. I turned on logging for a few of our more critical SQL monitors and then tested via the web console. The APMs were not logging information at all on the pollers. The web console indicated testing was…

HELP! The hotfix resolved the issue with the HTTP monitors but essentially killed all of our SQL user experience monitors. I had to roll back the hotfix I put in place to get our monitoring back up and running. So we are back a square one on the HTTP monitors. I am in the process of opening a trouble case with SW at this…
