ipMonitor relays mail through your specified SMTP server. I would check the logs there to see if the messages are being received by that SMTP server.

Here is an older link that will explain content generators, and provides variables for the different types of generators: http://support.ipmonitor.com/helps/78bf90b037944335b63f813029d01505.aspx

Garrett have you set up the Analysis of Test Results section in the trap monitor? You will also want to set up a content generator. This is where you will actually trigger an alert.
-
As a test, try using a UNC path for the destination.
-
Marty, Please post the contents of a Putty log showing a successful device backup.

NTM and Orion do not currently share a database. So at this time, there is no way to share credentials between the two.

Did you install as a service or an application?

In CatTools, try going to Options/Setup. Click the Misc tab, and look at the Automatically enable timer section:

Given that Kiwi Syslog server is not listening on port 162, I would recommend checking to make sure SNMP is enabled in the tool. You will want to go to File\Setup, and the scroll down to the Inputs section. Click on SNMP and make sure Listen for SNMP Traps is checked:
-
You will need to edit the alert to add and remove devices, monitors, or groups. This cannot be done done through the device.

Are you seeing syslogs from any devices in Kiwi Syslog server on this system?
-
This issue is usually caused by one of our dll or ocx file getting unregistered. This can happen after an Microsoft update. Please try reinstalling Kiwi Syslog Server over the top of your current install. Please run the install as the local administrator (not a domain account), and make sure both the Windows UAC and any…

When you say it is not working what do you mean? Are you not seeing syslogs in the display?

Please open a case with us. Support should have a connection analyzer tool that can be used to determine the exact connection method.

Use the CatTools File menu to select the "Enable capture mode" option. This will create a capture file in the Cattools3\debug folder. This will show you all communication between CatTools and your device. After your troubleshooting is done, don't forget to disable capture mode.

Please see this link: Re: Bulk Device password change

Sascha , How long does it take to get to a login prompt, and what is the exact prompt?
-
CatTools uses a service manager console, but there is no web interface.
-
What are your subscription settings for the log forwarder?
-
How many syslogs are you receiving per hour?
-
Try setting you filter up as shown in the screenshot:
-
Simon, I would uninstall through the Windows Programs and Features.
-
What is the size of the file being transferred?
-
There is not currently a Variations file for Motorola devices. I would recommend using a generic device, and modifying the commands to match the commands that you would use in a Putty session.
-
If you have a Variations tab when you create the device, there is an option to ignore certain text. Which device type did you select?
-
You will want to contact your sales person for a price. Once your maintenance is current, you can install over the top of your current install, and this will maintain your settings. Also please note that the license type has changed for the latest version, and you will need to use an activation key (available from your…

Ron, Yes you will want to submit that as a feature request. You can do so here: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/community/tools_tht/ipmonitor/ipmonitor-feature-requests

How do you bypass your banner?

Like airsun said, you will want to deactivate the license prior to the IP change. One other thing to keep in mind is that you have have to allow queries for the new IP, if you are using SNMP for mapping.
