I believe this already exists. In Orion: Go to Admin Settings in upper right hand corner of web interface Go to Product specific settings --> NCM Settings Real-Time Change Detection --> Configure Real-Time Change Detection Follow the steps on-screen, and select 'Enable' at the bottom. Example, on Cisco devices: logging on…

I agree with the above posters. I don't know why this doesn't exist already. Yes, you can basically do this with regular expressions, but it would take a LOT more work and a lot of rules to check against. It would be amazing to have a feature like this to get a bunch of settings (base configuration) cracked out in one fell…

I'm so confused. Maybe something else is going on here? I went to that posting, and when I try that exact same example the same error is still occuring.
-
Produces the same error whether the "String is found", or the "String is NOT found" radial button is clicked.
-
I went back and compared to your screenshot, and I saw a few syntax errors. I corrected them and I'm still getting an error. New screenshot:
-
OK, it looks almost identical to yours now, but is still erroring out.
-
Here is the screenshot So I want "USER1", and "USER2", and no other user on the device.

I tried doing a parenthesis on the first two lines since they are both "must contain". When I click on submit it says "Multi-line patterns syntax error".

While I was going through the issue and troubleshooting it, I did mess around with the spacing and line returns. There are only two lines, and I tried moving around the spacing in every way possible. I also wiped out the text in the box and retyped it. It was not a spacing or line return issue. I think there was some kind…

OK, I got it working now. I deleted the rule, and re-created it the exact same way, and it worked. There must've been some kind of bug or something in the previous rule. My guess is that something happened when I added and removed lines, and somehow the rule got messed up. Thanks everyone for your help!

I tried this, and put 'AND' in from of the second password line, and the "must not contain" line. When I click on submit, it says "Validation failed!" and "Check parenthesis incoditional statement. This does not check any parenthesis in a regular expression."

When I try this as an Advanced SQL report I get this: SQL Error: Invalid object name 'NCM.Nodes'.
-
OK, I think I figured it out. The string with the "\*" now works. It was another community string that had a ')' in it that was causing the issue. I had to put a '\' in front of that as well in order to get it to work. Sorry for any confusion that I may have caused for anyone else. :-)

OK, even though it errored out, it still saved and is working in 11.5.3 I also figured out how to change it to interface polling interval instead of stat collection. Change "Interfaces.StatCollection" to "Interfaces.PollInterval". I hope this helps someone in the future.

I did a bit more research on this error, and see that a number of other people had the same error when 9.5 came out. I've opened up a support ticket with Solarwinds, and will post the solution once I get some resolution.

I know this is an old thread, but any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Did something change in the last 6 years that broke this report? How do I fix this? I run the report and it works in report writer, but when I go to save it, it errors out and does not show up in the web interface like I want it to. Please see…

I just wanted to add that the strings works just fine without the entry with the asterisk in it. It's just that darned string with the asterisk that is fouling up my regular expression statement.

I am currently deploying NPM and NCM for a client. They are using NPM for the monitoring aspect of it, to monitor the network environmentals (hardware), interfaces, and bandwidth. It gives them a way to instantly see at a glance how the health of the network is. I am deploying NCM so they can get nightly backups of the…
