How does the new installer work? If I'm using it to install NPM and other modules on the newly stood up 2012 servers, how does it know which modules to install? Does it read the database to know or do you have to select the modules that you have installed?

I am looking more for a count which is what I have on a PerfStack dashboard I made. I have the OID that is referenced in that link you posted and had no problem getting a report created for that. I just can't seem to get a chart or a table with the data that is on this PerfStack dashboard.

Unfortunately the page is a diagnostic page from the application. There is no way to add any text to the page.

Glad to see it just needed a nudge to come back online. If the DB sync doesn't happen then none of the node statistics are updated, which is bad.
-
It hasn't in our environment and its almost been a year.
-
Yeah, but it says that I have too many upgrades and it is too complicated to give me an upgrade path.
-
The problem with that is I would lose all the current historical information. Someone had mentioned in another thread that you can change the player ID in the database to keep the data, but they didn't know what the tables were and what needed to be changed.

Unfortunately, I don't have a test machine to be able to run those installs, so I have opened a ticket with support to see if they can clarify. The Advisor says its compatible, but the release notes state it runs on 2017.1. Interestingly enough, one of the bullet points on the release notes is that it now has the new UI,…

A quick update - I tried posting again this morning and the error is still happening.
-
maria.bungau that did the trick. THANK YOU!! Had you experienced this in a real scenario? We are now trying to understand what would cause this to change overnight, as it was working yesterday.

Thanks for the tips. The upgrade is running now and on the "Configuring Storage Manager Database" step right now, It has been running for about 1.5 hrs so far. The database folder I backed up was about 30GB. Is there any estimate how long this database part of the upgrade will take?

According to the person wanting to run the reports - yes those hosts do have VMs that are thin provisioned. I did notice that when I drill down into one of the ESX devices that is not showing in the report that the "Thin Provisioning" screen under "STORAGE" tab is blank. Does somethingneed to be enabled that ESX host or…

I checked it again this afternoon and the three that were blank this morning are still blank.
-
Yes, I did it this morning about a hour ago. I also added "Memory Buffers" at the same time and that populated within 10 minutes.
-
Yeah I did open a case. We found out that an email address wasn't added to the scheduled task and that was causing it to fail. Once I set up an email address, the report ran correctly the next day.

I ran the SNMPWALK on the OID and it is showing incorrect on there. Looks like the Cisco bug...

It looks like Version 03.03.05SE

We are on IPAM 4.3.2.

Thanks for the info! We got the upgrade completed last week and had no issues with the migration of reports. It's nice to finally be off 7.0.2!

Yesterday I updated the IP addresses for the servers and it shows the new IP on the Polling Engine page. I just ran the configuration wizard on all the servers that moved and received no errors. I also cleared asp.net cache on the main poller. It still seems to be happening. I just used the SNMP walk tool on the server to…

aLTeReGo, We went into the Report Writer and started enabling the "Select Fields" one by one. The Node Name and Node ID came back within seconds, while any of the APM/SAM fields took a long time. We actually let it sit for a while when we only had 1 of the APM/SAM fields selected along with the NodeName and NodeID fields…

I have already opened a ticket and have sent diagnostics. #1222003

Adding up the total "HW Health Sensors" from the Polling Engine page came up to about 20000. If that isn't what you are asking, how would I find that information?
-
That worked and I'm now getting alerts. The one problem I'm still having is getting the reset condition to get triggered. The App on Server 1 is now up, but I'm still getting down emails as if both are still down. EDIT: I deleted the SAM checks on both Server 1 and 2 and between me adding them back I noticed the email DOWN…

I'm actually using the process monitor component, not service, so when I typo'd the service name it says "Can't be found" just like when it isn't running on the 2nd node.

I think it was that the MIBs that were in Solarwinds were incorrect for the current Geist version. I did a MIBWalk on various Geist MIBs when I had one of the Geist's web front end up to compare the numbers I got back. Here are some of the MIBs I'm using to pull back temps. Hopefully this will help you get started. AirTemp…

I don't think we ever found out what caused it. Our DBA ran a repair and it seemed to fix it.
-
Are you referring to the network sonar discovery tool or running the discovery on from the "Node Manage" screen?
-
I powered down the VM to take a snapshot before I made any changes in regards to Solarwinds suggestions and just for fun I tried the Fastbit Studio again and it connected. I tried the install on the Primary and it worked. Not sure what rebooting did, but I guess its all it needed. EDIT: I did see a Thwack post about having…
