Not sure what your end goal is. NetPath already does something like this. The "service" being the target you are trying to reach. You can then assign additional probes from around network locations which will create different paths to the same "service" or target IP address. Seems like this is more about how it's laid out…

Sadly no. I must wait on my Corporate overseers to finish bug scrubbing 3.6.4E and with some of the downsizing up there recently...no clue when that will or ever be done.

I appreciate the references which are helpful, but I've got multiple stacks all configured similarly that consist of a varying number of switches with some reporting and some not. It seems like certain stacks are reporting accurately and some are not.

Dan, Just for giggles and to compare with what I've seen with "ghost" switches. Check how many switches are provisioned since I've seen that if there is a member provisioned but not in a "ready" state that it throws Solarwinds a curveball in data ring reporting. I'll post an update once I remove the "ghost" provisioned…

The 4th switch being version 0 may just be a reboot to fix as long as it seems to be working normally. It could however impact your data stack reporting. Can you post the output of your "sh switch" cmd on the quad stack just so I can lay eyes on it ?

This is more of an oversight on my part, but I had stacks that were not reporting data rings on SW, but reported power stack ring. Turns out I had "ghost" switches provisioned when I had upgraded a stack and divided them later. After unprovisioning the switches and rebooting. SW now reports correctly. Just a heads up from…

dstj, Thanks for pointing that out, but it's how I set it up since the switches aren't located in the same rack but next to each other. 5 in 1 rack/ 4 in the other. I don't think that would cause the ring to not report correctly to solarwinds though. You should be able to cable them up in any way and then get a very…

Dan, I've been seeing some issues in the reporting of power/data stack rings. I noticed I had some "ghost" provisions were I stacked switches for an IOS upgrade, but later divided them up to deploy in different locations. I've attached the data ring for a stack of 7 3850s I have. I'm getting the same issue with certain…

Lawyer, I had the same issue with my 3850s not reporting the power supplies, but the rest of my older Cisco switches were reporting fine. This fixed the problem for me: Go to All Settings > Manage Nodes > Select all your 3850s > Edit Properties > Hardware Health Polling > Select CISCO-ENVMON-MIB > Submit Repoll all your…

tr, Are the switches/stack ports reporting all up on the switch side? Check provisioning as well. "sh switch" and "sh switch stack-ports" should let you know that they are all connected and provisioned properly.
-
Double check your port and probe settings just to ensure everything is set correctly and going where you would want it to. I would try building a path to a hop just inside and just outside your firewall that uses the same port to make sure NetPath is functioning correctly.

Superfly, I have alerting setup for any type of power failure thru our syslog server. I pulled the logs from the devices and none of them listed any type of power failure occurring, but under "sh enviro" sure enough PS 1 failure. It was like the device never sent a syslog message about the PS failing. That is what is so…

Thanks for the quick answer johnsja What about some manipulation of the HTML code by creating a table row to contain all the gauges ? I may be reaching a little too far now.

I just upgraded to 2016 box with 2016 SQL and it is working like a charm. I didn't have to drop / readd the nodes to get them to come up. Awesome. Thanks Robert !

First off, thanks for the script and extra web access functions. I thought I had this configured correctly, but I'm running into some roadblocks. I have it set to trigger on keep alive messages set for every 5 mins. The tab and everything shows up in the web access, but it's not pulling statistics. I'm getting an error in…

I'm not sure if my brain was not working or I started drinking too early, but I got it to work.

Dan, I finally got the error message you are receiving but mine is on a stack of 9 3850s running 03.06.03E. I've checked the poller, but depending on your settings if the poller isn't assigned to that device (atleast in my setup) then the stack tab doesn't even show up. One thing I did find strange as I was investigating…

Just as a caveat, in both cases each switch that had a power supply "fail" they were stacked together. Essentially SRV01A-SRV01B are stacked together and both experienced the same "Power Supply 1 Failure".

Did you keep your polling options set to normal? It could take up to 10 minutes for it to poll or give you an unreachable message depending on what you set your polling interval.
-
jonchill, The nodes you monitor with QoE will have to be in your NPM before you will see accurate application data.

The NCM documentation specifically says not to use the default folders, yet the script pulls the FW from those locations by default. This was pretty confusing as I was setting this up.
