We need 9 more upvotes to hit the top of the NPM feature requests. Where's the upvote squad?

I also missed it. Do we get a refire?

I agree with that sentiment, but what about the other monitoring of vehicles that occurs that we aren't told about? That's what's weird to me.

Well written article that definitely opened my eyes to more of the back-end management of employing the cloud. Great read!

It would be interesting to see if they leverage that in DCGS. They already kind of do, but if they were to fully embrace it would be an interesting idea. BYOD would never work in that type of environment though.

The big bad web filter strikes again!

I already answered the question, and the answer is what you think it is. Thwack on.

If only it were that easy. I'm a DoD Contractor, and I answer to Gov civilians. I won't get in trouble since I have documented the lack of requirements, but I would like to know what it is that they specifically care about. I've been generating higher-level products because our primary customer will likely be the branch…

Healthy skepticism can only go so far though. To really be safe you almost need to be tinfoil hat level paranoid. We only know as much as they tell us. rschroeder mentioned always making sure to keep your nose clean, which I do, but it doesn't make me any less unhappy that my data is being mined to be sold off. Why can I…

Why not turn to the company that knows everything about everything and everyone, right? They can even tell you who uses bing based on how many people end up googling bing.. lol.

I miss traveling for work. This whole being stationary for my job can get stale rather quickly. Great article and thanks for the share!

I know that much! Give me a little credit I just wasn't sure if maybe the answers were backwards or if I was just too quick to click. I know the correct answer, because I had to do a pretty in-depth report in PCI DSS, I just may have click before I fully read the full question.

I would be happy to win anything! I've not won anything during a monthly mission yet!

CDP is only Cisco though. Most other vendors leverage LLDP, which is the vendor neutral version. Cisco also supports LLDP. NTM can discover devices talking over LLDP no problem. We had an environment that was Cisco & Juniper mixed and NTM found all those devices.

I don't feel like I've just started, but I guess I did really just get started with trying to help folks troubleshoot. I can only imagine how dangerous I would be to the competition if I had a live instance of SolarWinds that I actually ran, rather than using it to look at other people's devices every once in a while. I didn't see most of these replies to me, only yours! I am on a DoD network, so sometimes the site bugs out a bit for me. I look at my inbox/feed and see one reply, but often times not others. zennifer that is also an interesting choice of photos, lol.

What's worse is putting your eggs in someone else's basket and expecting them to do what you would do, rather than what they want to do.

I get a big "Access to this site is blocked" with the US CyberCom header. Whoops, apparently I'm going to bad sites!
-
Terrific! Glad I could help Chad. Don't forget to mark the question as answered when you get a spare second! Bryan

Well this has taken a turn. I was under the impression you were seeing these errors in SolarWinds under the Server & Application Monitor. However, I see this is a different issue. I think I found the issue though! Read through this article and let me know if this solves your problem! Task Scheduler error
-
Good morning, So, I did some reading and I think I may have found the issue. First off, I need to clarify a few things with you. This is for a specific server, right? Which server is this for? For the record, this is about SAM and not NCM, so I'm not as well versed. Finally, SolarWinds SAM only monitors Windows Scheduled…

Well, that's the nature of troubleshooting, right? Can you take a screenshot of the error and just block out the departed Admin's name for me? If you would prefer to not post this here, you can message it to me here on thwack. I just wanted to see if there is potentially more information on it. Bryan
-
Srikanth, Let me clarify again, as this isn't the issue that you had explained before.. The issue is when clicking the SSH button on a Node's detail page? You mentioned downloading configs, when NCM does the config download job you are getting errors? Can you copy/paste some of the errors from the Job error log for me to…
-
Srikanth, I would look into the egress firewall settings at your site and the ingress firewall settings at the remote site. If NCM can SSH into anything, it's not an NCM issue. It could be a credential issue, but it seems unlikely. Since you can SSH in, but the server cannot, I think it is a firewall rule or ACL issue.…
-
Bruce, You could run another discovery on the management subnet/IP range, then import the devices that way. I don't think you'd be able to mass edit the nodes though, sorry! Bryan
-
I would open Task Scheduler on the machine and remove/re-add the scheduled tasks. That may resolve the issue you are encountering. As always, let me know if I can continue to help. Bryan
-
Srikanth, Sorry, you made it sound like your issue was with NCM jobs, when really it's with connecting to devices, right? Can you connect to the non-working US devices through PuTTY on your workstation? If yes, can you validate the snmp-server commands and the SNMP ACL are allowing the traffic to your SolarWinds? Are there…

Rhidian, I meant for the compliance rule, the "must be present" or "must not be present". The must not option may show each occurrence. Bryan

Glad I could help. Sorry about the pain, but good luck with the new install! Hope all goes well! Bryan
