I spent a few years in the military, hard to really offend me after working with some real interesting people. lol.

I actually tried to post a geek speak blog post, but wasn't able to. I know there are a lot of points to be earned, I just haven't had the time to research them further. I am also trying to host a SWUG for some of my fellow DoD counterparts, but am having trouble getting traction on that at the moment. One day soon,…

I don't mean to say I think that the idea of loss of privacy is paranoia, it's the thought process that "big brother" is always watching that is almost borderline paranoid... for the time being.

@"tony.johnson" So we ended up making the change, but hiding the div container on line 78 hid the entire form, including the SAML SSO button. Instead, I worked with a co-worker and we took a look at the C# file for the login.aspx. He found the function for redirect and added the following lines as an else on line 473. else…

brett.holzhauer - I sent you a DM about this.

I personally prefer the Pi Song from youtube. I would link it but DoD internet does not like youtube very much. That will stick in your head for a while.
-
brett.holzhauer My Q7 did not get reset, I suspect I am in the group of people who need to be manually reset? Thanks!

@"CourtesyIT" @"aLTeReGo" @"rschroeder" I feel like you guys have done a fair few installations. Any of this resonate with you or am I being too nit-picky? Bryan

I didn't realize how much I needed this feature in my life until I saw the request.
-
Well, I wish I knew who to tag to help you out, I'm on the federal side so I don't know a lot of the non-fed account managers. Good luck on your quest!

From a corporate standpoint, moving data and services into the cloud is a simple method of risk transference. Through an SLA and contract agreement, you as a customer are trusting the provider to secure and defend the network within the scope of the contract, thereby placing all the risk and blame on that provider, if…

Unsubscribe from winter? Does not compute. The snow and ice...they follow me.

Leon wouldn't do that to us, would he?
-
The only problem is some of us (especially those in the DoD) can't add browser extensions. We can't care for our eyes if SolarWinds doesn't help us!
-
Yes! This, right here, is something I tried to explain to my leadership while I was in the military. This is also something I STILL try to explain to my leadership now that I am a contractor FOR the military. Doing something does not necessarily mean that work is being done. Also, just doing busy work does not mean ANY…

I think this one speaks for all of us...

I will not eat green eggs and ham, I will not eat them Sam I Am...

I may be using this to explain some things to my boss. The DoD needs some of this info. Great write up!

Well, the Basilisk lost so count me out. No extra sweet, sweet thwack points for me. Oh well, may the annihilation continue!
-
Once again, Jfrazier has helped me to understand something just a bit better than I did before.
-
Have you verified your SolarWinds instance's MIB database is up to date? Also, this wouldn't be an NCM request, as CPU Utilization is a performance metric captured by NPM polling.
-
As a color blind person, I don't see the problem?

Matt, You make some excellent points. In a time period where cloud migrations are the "thing to do", it's hard to go against that current. I would put the move to the cloud on par with offshore outsourcing back in the day. People are just now realizing they moved too much offshore, and I believe people will soon realize…

This is a good read. Going to go ahead and bookmark this for later.

I think this may need to be re-posted unless aLTeReGo or another one of the mods can move it.
-
sqlrockstar I always look forward to your Actuator posts! Thanks for the share.
-
Not in the DoD you can't. But alas, I suppose I will just need the Thwack store to carry some Gunnar glasses soon to protect my eyes.
-
I'm really upset this still isn't being implemented. This is the most votes I've ever seen on a feature request that has not been implemented! (Other than the other two from 2012, lol)

I feel like I'm slowly creeping down that road, and I won't notice the steep drop before I end up falling down it to be a full-on DBA.

@"mesverrum" have you tinkered with this. I just got a call from our CISO and am going to be working on that today. Just wanted to see if you had taken a stab at it? Thanks, Bryan
