aLTeReGo thank you for this. I brought this up with an systems engineer and since this server is clustered, he's afraid it won't rejoin the cluster. I don't know how true that is, have you seen instances of that happening? We want to monitor the box properly but the bigger risk is if it won't rejoin. Thanks

aLTeReGo Did this and it worked. Thanks for ally our help.

Thanks for getting back to me.

aLTeReGo this is awesome. thank you for showing me this... now just i need to learn how to script.

We're well aware of this issue and we monitor Remote Registry on all Windows Server 2008 R2 servers and automatically restart the service once it reaches a 1 GB threshold. Maybe this is too low of a threshold, what do you think aLTeReGo? The part that has me confused is why 70+ Windows Server 2003-2012 Services and…

Great. Thank you for replying, Do you know a work around in the meantime?
-
When it has occurred it was 3 months apart. I'll check with the DBAs to see if they did maintenance at those times, that's something I didn't think of. I did get with support on the issue and since then, SW has beenr unning smooth but I won't see we are in the clear for at least 3 months without this issue occurring. What…

1. I am assuming you are using WMI yes 2. What's the polling interval set on the template ? (is it 300 seconds) yes, the more troublesome ones are 500 3. How many components do you have on the template ? (5-10 or more than that) 7 We've used your suggestions for resolution when maybe it's 1 application monitor or a couple…

Thanks! Do you know if it's possible to revert all the nodes' components all at once back to "Inherit from Template" after they have been set to "Override the Template"?
-
What I've tried is this: I want to alert on: Application Trigger Alert when all child conditions must be satisfied (AND) Application status is equal to down Node status is equal to up This hasn't worked for me. Do you know where I'm going wrong?
-
The services are in a separate templates. So then you suggest I put the components in a template then? Thanks!
-
This helped a lot. I ended up taking the info from those and finding custom MIBs to make a custom template. Thanks for your help!
-
I will test and verify then if it work.
-
I have already done that and couldn't find anything in the documentation about alerting off of HTML headers. Is there something I'm missing?
-
Thanks for this. Do you know of any documentation on separate databases for another module?
-
Thanks, I'll try it out for a week and tweek it as we go along.

It's a mix. Some of our Windows clusters are purely SQL or file servers and others are a mix of file and SQL. Does that make a difference? So you're saying I have to monitor only the VIP and then input the nodes of the VIP into the template and that will do the trick? Thanks ">bluefunelemental

NPM 11.5.2, and SAM 6.2.2,
-
Were you able to resolve this? dunky2k
-
So far it doesn't
-
nevermind, I restarted the Orion services and it worked.
-
Looks like the reboot resolved it after 30 minutes. My best guess as to what had caused this issue is that Remote Registry got hung and couldn't start. Anybody know what logs could give more detail? Thank you.
