  • We do not have SCCM, but I have noticed issues with installing the JRE 8 clients. The older client seems to be still installed. Luckily, I just remove the older client after the new one gets installed. And there are very few clients running JRE in our environment.
  • Yes, you can inventory. I run an inventory task once a week in our environment.
  • I was getting this a few years ago and I had to clear out some kind of cache to get this to stop. It has something to do with the mechanism for downloading from the catalogs gets out of sync or something. P.S. I am getting the same 22 updates. So count me in!
  • We also block filehippo at our firewall. I usually end up grabbing the update from another source. There are many ways to download an update. I usually use www.oldapps.com, but there are many legitimate download sites that may not be blocked by your web blocking solution.

  • I usually wait a few days when testing packages to see if they are needed by workstations. Performing the detect now should be the only thing you have to do, report now does not really do anything. It does take about 10 to 15 minutes for items to show up in the Patch Manager console.
