The new systems would be good also. The 820s have been replaced by 840s. The 840s run some of the storwizw code.

Could we use 20 questions to get the date out of you?
-
Not yet, Still working on the MYSQL access part.
-
Any date on a GA?
-
Any update on 2008 support?

What I do is make a bogus node like 1.1.1.1 and assigned a node name to it that meets your requirements. The node will always be down. I just unmanage it when not testing.

Currently we only have AMD servers so I can't say if they are affected. I can say I did not run into any mentioning of Xeon CPU with similar issues.
-
Found the problem. It appears that duel core AMD processors have an issue with the sync between the cores that gets worse as up time continues. To fix only a simple driver update is needed.I am going to test the driver update and then apply in production. I will have to wait and see if it fixes the issue. AMD's driver…

My Storage manager install was originally done by Solarwinds for a POC. What is the default login and password for update rights to the DB?
-
Can you give us any real time line? Even like in the next 2, 3, 6 or 12 months would helpful.

We have one Orion SLX and two SLY pollers. They are all 2 dual core Opetrons 2.8 with 4 GB ram. Total Elements, Nodes, Interfaces, Volumes are: Network Elements21991 ElementsNodes5463 NodesInterfaces12037 InterfacesVolumes4491 Volumes We have the additianal web server. the DB is on our SAN behind IBM's SVC.

In response to warbird, Yes, I am running Cirrus too. Cirrus has about 4400 nodes that are backed up nightly. Our Cirrus DB goes back to the same SQL instance and Lun that Production Orion sits on. For my companies use of cirrus very little of the app is used during normal business hours. 99% of the work is done at night…

This in one node, it is not as pronounced at the total network but you can see the trend.
-
I am sorry I did not understand your need. Yes you will need to make one report for each custom group, if you want to have the top 10 nodes from each group show.
-
What about Motorola AP's / Controllers?
-
Has anyone found a way to run a report in Cirrus (NCM) how by Switch port what vlan(s) it is on? I have been requested to find out on all 500+ switches what Vlans the port is on. I see that the switchport mapper can do this but at one switch at a time.

I am currently Monitoring over 24,000 elements balanced over 4 pollers all on VM. The main poller is also running Netflow with over 2000 interfaces being monitored. The SQL server is on a dedicated Box and the DB lives on the SAN. With this configuration I have not run into any performance issues with the SQL server or the…

Does this mean Storage Manager comes with a free copy of SolarWinds SEUM?
-
I tried 1000 But my poor PC could not keep up. 250 seems to be the best for me. To load in 250 nodes only takes a few seconds. You can almost scroll right through all my nodes. Thanks DS

Is this documented in the Admin guide?
-
The chart is company wide for one day I believe. I do not understand how the response time could get worse as the amount of days the server has been up grows. And at the day and time the servers reboot it looks to "reset" the response time.
-
I think it is working. Expand the total amount of nodes to top 20. You should see some more custom groupings this way. Do you want at least one node form each group to show?
-
ICMP polling only at 300 second intervals should be OK for 7000 nodes (as a back-up solution). I was running over 6000 elements with 99% polled with SNMP on a single server install. It was slow but manageable (used 3 disk Raid 0 for DB). Did you find that your disks were the slow point? We are looking into 8 disks with 15k…
-
I am using the new log forwarder. Version 1.5 the latest I have on my portal.
-
I keep about 7000 element on each poller. If you watch the Netperfmon.exe process when you issue a stop the memory usage will start to decrease. My servers take about 10 to 15 min to come down nicely.
-
In a four core system if I see the Netperfmonservice.EXE using 25 % of system CPU recourses I could say that performance is being impacted , right?
-
Thank you for the update, is their a time table for 9?
-
What about any modules you have installed on the Primary poller like APM?
-
Can you export the alert and post it?
-
This is a big bug. Is there any update to when this will be fixed?
