Today's question was easy. I like when the questions are this easy.
-
This one is easy to like and dislike at the same time!

Always answer yes to the survey question... haha!

I selected 5 for yesterday's question and got it wrong. Can somebody point me in the right direction to see how many devices Log Manager was gathering logs from?
-
Done.
-
I was able to find it online with a quick search. Thanks, Alex

Congrats to all of the winners!

I got today's question right. I was a little surprised.
-
I waited and checked later in the day so I completed it. I have missed out on some drawings in the past, so I understand the frustration! Thanks, Alex

Performance Analysis along with live polling is a really cool feature. I believe once we get multiple related devices in the same window automatically, showing what's wrong with the picture, it will be a game changer for troubleshooting. We are on the right path. Upgrading is definitely worth it!!!

The question asks for blades running.

A solution that works, but can take a long time to configure is to create a rule for every VLAN. This is the only solution that I have come up with so far. It was still better than trying to login to a 1000 devices or however many you manage and manually update each one.
-
Make sure you have your rule parsed correctly. I do not think you need pattern interface. You just need to search config blocks. Example config block start - ^interface GigabitEthernet.* Example config block end - ! So it starts with the carat, and the end is just an exclamation point.
-
You can add a string that says does not contain switchport mode trunk.

I am having an issue installing additional pollers at this time. I am getting: Installer fails with a socket connection message when installing from the main poller. I tried the fix and it is not working. Now I am sitting in the tech support queue. Another thing is that the WPM installation is not showing as installed on…

On the phone with SolarWinds Support. We logged in to the new machine as a local administrator account. Downloaded the installer again. Ran an uninstall script. gave the database user sys admin role. The installation is working at this time and it looks like it is going to complete. Thank you SolarWinds Technical support!!!
-
Did you uninstall NTA and re-install it afterwards?
-
The installation completed, but the Orion configuration wizard is keeps closing and will not complete.

I just started the upgrade. So, far we have: 1. De-activated the software on the old servers. We had to run the license manager five times and then all of our licenses were free on the SolarWinds Customer Portal. 2. Shutdown all our servers. 3. Re-named, changed the IP addresses of the new servers to be the same as the…

I will continue to add paths and try it out. Thanks for taking the time to respond to my questions. Thanks, Alex

NPM 12.1 works from SQL Server 2008 up through SQL Server 2016 and stops there (won't work with SQL Server 2016 SP1): 1. Deactivate license on NPM 12.1 server and shut down. 2. Stand up 2016 server 3. Download installer for NPM 12.1 and install on 2016 server 4. Activate license 5. Download installer for NPM 12.3 and…

This post helped me yesterday. I was trying to install 2 solarwinds additional polling engines as well as a web server. We had an issue just like this with a different file name. 2017-06-07 14:54:27,773 [3] DEBUG SolarWinds.Orion.CompatibilityPreInstaller.Forms.DownloadProgressPage - Downloading…

Should the new version of IPAM populate MAC addresses without SNMP? If so, do I need to enable something in the app?
-
It seems as though the logic is still not correct. Has anybody else attempted something similar that could share the logic?
-
I wanted to add that since the upgrade, we also had to install postgres and oracle drivers on the polling engines which we had not identified as part of the upgrade.
-
I wanted to install all of the latest modules on a new server (fresh install). I was not sure on how to migrate the existing database to the new server SQL 2016 database/Windows 2016 server for the fresh installation.
