Hi ckjtrollen, You are not alone. I tried to replicate this on my end with Win Server 2008. When I select any item under Keywords and then restart the service, it will definitely bomb for an error message. But then when I disable the Keywords, service starts in a blink of an eye. Seems to be a bug on this new version.

Can you let me know if the issue still occurs after turning off the DNS resolution?
-
HI, what I am thinking right now is your DNS server is resolving 10.168.1.20 incorrectly. Can you try to disable "Resolve IP address within the message text" option under DNS Resolution and see if the source IP addresses are correct or not. Let me know if it helps.

Hello, Can you make sure that Kiwi Syslog Server is set correctly to log messages to KWA? See the correct configs here: Kiwi Syslog Web Access Let me know if it helps.

There seems to be a confusion. The 3rd column shows the Source IP address of the syslog messages which is 10.168.1.20. If all the messages above are saved into 10.168.1.20.txt file then %IPAdd4 variable is working as expected. The 4th column contains the exact Syslog message, part of that message contains other network…

bobt1962 Kiwi Syslog Server can contact DNS servers to do a reverse lookup for IP addresses, however, maintaining DNS server might me cumbersome sometimes and might produce incorrect results. (Happens to me most of the time) You may try reviewing your DNS records or might want to consider using Static cache entries feature…

I used Nagios before, until I found Solarwinds Toolset. Just like Nagios, you can also view charts of the nodes response time, very easy and user friendly charts. I guess the number of nodes supported is not the issue with this tool but the amount of data it can handle. Others said that this tool uses MS Access database…

Well deleting the old messages should do it too. But to be sure, you can try also to create a new directory. Send us screenshots of the outputs. Thanks.
-
Have you tried upgrading to NTM 2.2 RC?
-
I am glad that you were able to fix the issue discovering the said device. For the link issue, can you send a screenshot of what you are saying and what should it be? Thanks.

Hi cmalipaard, That's great news. I think the reason behind this is that the Staggering Monitor Load on Startup is currently enabled. More on this can be found at ipMonitor :: Staggering Monitor Load on Startup

Hello, To share a map with my team, what I usually do is to export it and put a new password. Simply click File -> Export -> Map and enter the new password. Hope it helps.

This could be a SNMPv3 incorrect configuration on the said cisco device. You may ask your vendor how to fix it or you may try to refer to How to properly configure SNMPv3 in CISCO and see if it helps.

Sorry if that didn't help. How about try a quick repair of the application by performing the following: 1. Delete the following files to the recycle bin: C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\ToolsetLaunchpad\quickTools.xml C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Toolset\ToolsetLaunchpad\Launchpad.xml 2. Run installer for latest version of Toolset…

It seems your ipPhone was not discovered from SNMP. Map information not discovered from SNMP is not that much reliable. Can you make sure that NTM server can poll the device using SNMP. If so, try to edit the map properties and include it in the IP address range discovery settings and rescan the map. Hope it helps.

For desktops, I used both SNMP and WMI. NTM uses SNMP to get the connections speed links and port interface information, the rest info about the machine are through WMI. For switches, of course SNMP. Make sure that CDP/LLDP (if supported) as information from these protocols are much more reliable than bridge tables.

azevedo, well I am thinking that you are seeing the old messages that are already there before changing the configs. Try to use this new path instead: D:\Syslog\Test\%IPAdd4\%DateY4\%DateM2\%IPAdd4.txt. This will create a brand new directory. Let me know how it goes.

Comparing the current outputs from a previous one is NOT yet available both in Device.CLI activity and Report.ARP table activity. I believe this feature is only available in Device.Backup Running Config. I have tried to perform this on my CatTools Server and it works like a charm. Feel free to perform the following: 1. Use…

As of now, for the Toolset for Web edition, fortunately we have 5 tools available LOL. Well I believe the Toolset guys are still on the process of converting more tools available from Desktop version into Web version. Do you have a specific tool wanting to be included in the Web Version? If so, feel free to create a…

I am glad to know that it helps. I feel really sorry for the desk LOL

If you are using HP servers, I believe you have the capability to monitor the disk's health like IO. If not, you might wanted to consider Solarwinds Orion SAM (www.solarwinds.com/server-application-monitor.aspx) or STM (www.solarwinds.com/storage-manager.aspx)
-
I had this issue before but on different OS. The below steps work for me, feel free to try it too: 1. Click Start > Control Panel. 2. Click Internet Options. 3. On the Advanced tab, in the Security group, clear the following box: -Check for server certificate revocation 4. Click OK
-
Please right click Rules -> Add new Rule. And configure it like this: Kiwi Syslog Web Access Hit apply. Refresh your KWA web console and verify it the events are coming in now.
-
There you go. Thanks jiri.skrabal for sharing the information

Hi susan.kelley@jhuapl.edu, Kernelbase.dll is a Windows DLL file which is used by most windows application like NTM. If this dll file is failing, it is likely for the NTM to fail too. For a quick isolation test, have you tried to install NTM app on a different machine? Let me know if it helps.

Hi Roger, bkyle is right. However there should still be an exception handler or an error message either on or before or at the end of the export process and not just sit there forever or like. IMHO

Hi nks7892, You can refer to Kiwi CatTools - Supported Devices | Kiwi for the list of devices supported. Now, if your device is not listed and somehow based on Cisco IOS, You might wanted to use Generic.Device type as script. This has a variations tab that can adjust the script to run against your device. Hope it helps.
