yes its enabled. No hour glass. This came about when I wanted to test an alert. I set up the advance alert to simply monitor the Windows Print Spooler to one server. I've stopped and restarted the service many times and received no email alerts. It shows in the Events Monitor, but no email was sent.

I want to be alerted when either one of the two services goes down. The following seems like it will only alert me if both IIS and the Exchange Info Store goes down. Testing the Advance Alerts = nothing Basic Alerts are working Test Alerts from Basic Alerts are working.

thanks for the reply Mark. If I add the clause you mention, I would have to define every server not running that service wouldnt I? any idea why I get alerts for services not running on the mentioned server?
-
wouldnt changing it to ALL from ANY mean that both services will have to go down for the alert to trigger?

bump up the time at the bottom of the Trigger Conditions tab. For Example: if your server takes two minutes to reboot, set the alert to trigger after three minutes. That way when you get an alert you will really know its down.
-
how would you exclude a server or group of servers for this alert?
