Absolutely. Nodes are decommissioned all the time. It's important to keep some data about them. Plus if the node needs to be restored at any point you would just pull it from the archive instead of having to completely re-add the node.

Nooo, got today's wrong. So close to the end too. Could have sworn I got that one right....

Maintenance mode should be very easy to implement. IIS has a built in feature for "maintenance mode." You just add a "app_offline.htm" page to the root of the web directory (C:\inetpub\SolarWinds\) and any page in the entire site will automatically redirect to it (reference). Orion would just have to throw some standard…

I could be missing this but running NPM 11.7 I still don't see an option to add web-based reports to dashboards/summary views.

Great stuff last year; looking forward to attending again!!

This is a great request. Dependency management is clunky right now at best. We're about to expand somewhat dramatically on our needs for dependencies and I dread having to go in and add all of them. The automatic dependency discovery could use some work too as it doesn't always work very well at all.

Nice, congrats isquish!!

miseri Q9 took me a minute but it wasn't as hard to find as the previous fill-in-the-blank question!
-
Awesome!! Thank you!
-
I got it right. It's kind of two ways to say the same thing. Just remember though, it's not the end if you miss this question!
-
dmbeckemeyer That may actually mean that you entered the wrong answer. I tried two answers with the same result as you (nothing appeared to happen) but when I entered the correct answer it forwarded me to the Thwack username entry screen.

The hint for question 7/Feb 11 should be the following: Introducing SolarWinds Identity Monitor It's currently "Access Rights Manager 2019.4 Release Notes."

Doh. I didn't enter the four words in the survey when finishing last week and now it's closed Missed opportunity!

Ditto. Not really sure what they were wanting...

"Oh, you don't like points? Too bad! Take these and go get some free stuff!! *evil laugh*" - Thwack overlords. It's been their plan from the beginning.

Q17 is definitely hard. Thanks to @jm_sysadmin for the admin guide hint. Still had to dig for the exact answer but I got it correct. Tough one.
-
Pretty jealous on that one, congrats erichale!!

We had an issue with our SAN awhile ago. All groups were working on it when the sysadmin supervisor walks into our (network) area. Sysadmin Super: "Are you guys aware of the two switches that are down?" Me: *glances up a Orion, nothing showing down* "...No, what two switches?" Sysadmin Super: "In one of the [ESXi] host…

Dang, I'm pretty jealous but congratulations esecola!!

I would also really like this. Right now we have to add an "_UNASSIGNED" (underscore so it is the "default" at the top of the list) option to every custom property so that it is not only easier to see when adding a node but so that it is easy to find those nodes which have not had the custom property properly set. This…
-
Correct, this would be very, very easy to do in the web-based report writer (easier for people like myself!) Just create a custom table report and add a column for the Interface Name. In the advanced section choose to aggregate the data by count and you're done. You can do the normal sort-bys and such to get there you…
