Thanks bronx that's a better list that i found in the online help however it is missing a listing of group variables that are available in atlas. The ones I'm finding in the online help don't seem to work,

Thanks Jiri As always you are very helpful. Looking at this I realize now how much I'll need configurable parameters on my recordings. I've had to use separate logins for each location I'm running which required a unique transaction id and now it looks like i wont be able to alert them by the same id!

one interesting thing to note. After 24 hours or so of operation i get numerous instances of conhost.exe and CounterFetcher.exe left running. I'm guessing they are orphans are the number appears to grow over time.
-
i get both single instances of this within a greater group of perfmon counters in a template or an entire group of perfmon counters in a template. I see this in IIS, Windows, and SQL counters across a bunch of different servers at i believe random times of the day. I'll attempt to see if there is a larger pattern I'm…

One report or view that I'm not seeing is the ability to aggregate data from all netflow sources for a single ip group. Top XX charts for instance by defined ip group for instance would be helpful. Drilling down from the current TopXX into a group and then having to select from netflow source is cumbersome when mining for…

using the powers of reading i can see "Each dynamic query can only include one type of Orion object (node, application, etc.)" so I guess this then boils down to "how can I add custom properties to the application object?"
-
is the standard content match on a rendered page sufficient? If not you could call any number of the cmdline based http clients from a script and perform your match there.
-
have you exited NCM completely and retried? I have noticed some similar behavior of it not rereading config changes until you fully exit it.
-
I had the same issue and at least in APM custom fields are not supported. My workaround was to copy the data into one of the unused supported fields within the db manager. Certainly not ideal but got the groups I needed created until they add this type of support.
-
update: large maps are returning An unexpected error occured rather than operation failed.
-
I hope so I do it all the time in APM to be able to use custom properties within the dynamic queries...
-
yep. graphing in general across the product line needs a major upgrade.
-
what i do is create a template that monitors via http or https with the appropriate content match etc. I then apply it internally to all the hosts in the pool and then apply it as well to the VIP. this gives you the ability to determine instantly when the pool goes slow which internal box(es) are responsible for the slow…

There is no need to "enable" like you would on cisco devices. In NCM on your juniper nodes make sure you select "no enable" under the Login Information section. If you prefer to back up as set commands rather than stanza you can easily edit the Juniper-1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.ConfigMgmt-Commands file to replace the line <Command…

you either need a routing path that APM can take to come out a different path than that of your internal users. or a APM instance hosted in a different site or SEUM with a playback location external to your internal users as above.
-
you don' say how the sites are addressed? i assume host headers and not addiional ips so I would apply a custom template with multiple http components under it, one per site. you should then be able to using the component name alert as you wish. or use SEUM.
-
this may or may not fit you needs but should be able to be customized as you require on your end. My requirement was to do a top 100 conversations including a protocol breakdown over the last 24 hours PER ip address group enabled. So for this to run you will need to define a ip address group and enable it to display on the…

I am working on this very issue with my dba now and should have something based off of ip groups working in a day or so. I will post to the exchange once I confirm it works correctly.

if you add one vme you should be able to discover all the others ports in the stack including the vc ports. There is new native junos support in the newest NPM RC but I have yet to demo it. Currently I use custom pollers to grab my VC RE cpu and memory, and snmp traps to alert on VC events.

to add one positive note to sales it does seem like they are getting their email distros under control. I seem to no longer have my email address in their db as 14 unique addresses to send pitches to. so kudos there.
-
This is an issue. Reps fighting over your purchase is not something you want to be a part of.
-
have you verified SSH is not blocked from your NCM box to junos? I do use NCM with Juniper almost exclusively in our environment and haven't run into this. Sounds like something basic is blocking you
-
I've run into a number of these, the troubleshooting depends on what the template is checking for. what is the template pulling? via what method?
-
I'd also love to know the solution to this.
-
yes, there are several precanned custom properties defined for such things. Check out the custom property editor.
-
please please please add custom properties support to group dynamic queries!

and as an update, bought seum after we ran the beta. install and config so far without issues on our prod systems. nice work seum team.
-
Having gone through the beta I don't believe there is anything provided for you other than the player. If you have a presence in the states you wish to monitor from you can install the player on pretty much any machine as its very lightweight and it reports the results back to the collector. If you are a single site…

check the hosts arp table when the issue occurs. We saw something similar and it was related to a new nic / driver combo some of our newer hosts we're shipping with.
