Loving the new look and features.

Monitoring is my full time job and we use multiple Solarwinds products along with a few other vendors to help us out. In addition to that we have multiple programs integrated with Solarwinds to almost fully automate server builds, removals, maintenance, reporting, tickets, root cause analysis and many other things. Right…

Looking forward to the Friday articles.

An agent for UNIX/Linux would be amazing. ONE BIG request would be to differentiate between the actual disk usage and the reserved space. Another request is to have it so the agent does not need to run as root. Linux Drive Monitors not Accounting for Reserved Space

I know I'm posting to a 2yr old thread but additional info can be found here. Re: Linux Drive Monitors not Accounting for Reserved Space

Awesome! Thank you!

I agree with mikegale, one and two are right on the money.

dfmole There's a feature request to have a linux agent developed to address this and many other issues. I'm not sure of any other way besides the script at this time. AGENT FOR MONITORING LINUX/UNIX OPERATING SYSTEMS

Great find Petr! We are looking at that now and I'll let you know and reply to this thread with what we find. Just for the record, we believe it to be an issue with our environment and NOT ORION. We have also opened case #581523 as well. -- Adam

Hey aLTeR, it's been crazy around here! So here is what I've gotten so far. Not the best, but our group seems to have to always have to prove why something does not work. Anywho...these are all being polled via WMI, no SNMP, but we are moving these few boxes to SNMP until we can figure this out. That being said, no…

Hey aLTeR, I'm working on getting additional info with screen shots, but for now when I apply and test on the Windows Server 2003-2012 Services and Counters template, I'm getting the following... Also, the device is managed and I'll follow back up with the WMI permissions.

We have setup a custom property and automated a maintenance schedule that runs 24x7x365. When a node is decommed we edit the node and assign it the category of Decommissioned. At that point we have an automated task that runs and updated the xml file for the unmanaged nodes and puts them in an unmanaged state for 24x7x365…

We are in the beginning stages of setting this up and currently do some automation but have big plans coming in a few months for more automation. This is how we currently integrate Orchestrator and Orion using PowerShell. We setup an alert in Advanced Alert Manager and the trigger action executes a PowerShell script to do…

mikegale I'm a firm believe in collecting data. If you collect the data you can then see a trend that the customer/line of business may not have noticed. This is the difference in reactive monitoring vs. proactive monitoring. Now some people may not have a need for that, but having the data and not using it vs not having…

Hey mcordero, did you ever get this to work? I was doing a bit of research on the same thing and came across this thread...

I agree with jeremydr. We had the same issue and once we enabled the CIM service we then had the Hardware Health of Servers option after listing the nodes resources.

1. Are these new hover designs more useful, less useful, or about the same level of usefulness as the current hovers? I like the new hover designs and can already see benefit for our group, our customers and our environment. The new hover design is definitely more useful especially the actions and more details links. 2.…

After doing quite a bit of research we finally found the solution to our issue. We are still researching the exact cause but do believe it’s related to VMware tools. So, here is what we did check to see if there was an issue locally followed by the command we used for our fix. We added the perfmon counter, Processor -> %…

Just off the top of my head I can think of two ways NPM can kick this off but there are a ton of ways this can be done but all require some sort of scripting. 1) execute an external program. IE use scorunner to connect to Microsoft Orchestrator and then connect to router, reboot, email results. 2) trigger aciion to run a…
