SNMP v3 to me is more useful than its earlier versions. The authentication and privacy bits of it make it far better for monitoring network activity while preventing unwanted interception.

You can try saving the running-config to the flash with an alternate name (unless you want to overwrite your startup-config), then use the more command to view the file you saved to the flash.

You can use NAT on each end of the link so that the NPM appears with a local IP on each remote site and have each remote site appear with a local IP on the NPM network.

You can also query the Active Directory Global Catalog (GC) with LDAP using these same rules. The advantage of the GC is that you can query any member of the forest from any convenient domain controller that is a GC.

I installed over the old version like kstone did. The installation automatically backs up the database as .sdf files.
