If you have added a timestamp in your table you should see a drop down to select the time period on your content resource which will let you choose a custom reporting period and data summarization period.

Did you get a resolution from the support team? I am seeing the same error on MySQL and PostgreSQL templates. The credentials have the required the privileges and we have followed the article to setup unix odbc and database connectors.
