Jfrazier is right now we are doing alot of this now where i work trying to figure out if opensource is better or if we should do BYOD and its all serious money to maintain and if we want to bring in alot of new tools and have that learning time to figure everything out.

We don't treat these as high alerts unless there are a huge number of them going off at once this is so our DBA's don't throw a hissy fit.

the company im at uses a crazy amount of tools from SCOM to HP Open View and everything in between got to make sure we dont miss a single thing.

we dont use netflow our network team is all about the cisco prime and what they have to offer.

We don't have BYOD but i can see the point in tracking internal computers using UDT.

Not much experience here either but i think we use both because we have physical servers that are legacy that we keep around and Virtual ones as well.

is that just NCM or the entire upgrade. and yeah i try not o do mulitple patching but have been pushed back so much that now i have to do NCM, NPM, and UDT thats why im curious on how long it will take.
