Orion Platform 2019.2 includes the ability to automatically delete these 'unknown' volumes. For more information, check the link below. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-204353#jive_content_id_Automatic_Removal_of_Unknown_Volumes

If the node isn't reachable via ICMP then add the node as an "External Node" which doesn't monitor Node status, but can have application monitors applied to it for the purposes of monitoring application status.

I have posted this as a feature request you can vote on here ->

Honestly it's over my head as well and really was designed for developer use only. If you don't have anyone in your organization with programming experience you may be able to ask for some basic assistance in the SDK forum.

Not within that template as it exists today, though you could ask for assistance modifying the PowerShell script to better suit your purpose in the Script Lab.

Ok, thanks to support we were able to find the issue. It seems I had a Custom Poller ID defined in the resource properties for every Network Wide view. I have no idea how that happened but we deleted the value for each and every view and all is well. Bazaar!

The most common cause of slow web interface performance is poor database performance. Without knowing more about your environment such as whether your running Orion and the database on the same server or if your in a distributed configuration, or what the detailed hardware specs of the machine/s are it's hard to make a…

It is not uncommon for these emails to be blocked by SPAM filters. I would recommend looking there if possible.

The MIB database is compiled every Friday with the inclusion of that weeks submissions and made available for download through the customer portal.

here should be a way to update en masse the APM credentials. It would be nice to see the option to edit multiple assigned templates and assign a set of credentials to all of the selected nodes rather than having to change them one by one. We will consider this for a future release of APM.

Correct. SAM 6.2 includes the new Web Based Alert Manager, which will require that you upgrade to NPM 11.5 before you can install SAM 6.2.
-
I believe the OID that this sensor is mapped to is 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.2.3.1.7
-
fcpsolaradmin, unfortunately there is no way to manually change this beyond removing the reference to this non-existent server in Active Directory.
-
Absolutely, you can export any alert or application template and import that into another SAM instance. This will retain the majority of your settings, but obviously not individual per-node or assigned application configuration settings that may be unique.
-
This is a known issue we are tracking internally under VIM-3106.

You don't have to upgrade to v5.5, It's just nicely built in to v5.5. You can use SecureCRT v5.1, or any version of SecureCRT really, by following the FAQ located here http://www.vandyke.com/products/securecrt/faq/018.html

AppInsight for IIS, which is part of the SAM 6.2 beta, includes native Application Pool monitoring.
-
Did you disable/remove the entire AppInsight for SQL template from the node?
-
Denny, <customer gitty with anticipation> will this be a major release "9.0", or a maintenance release such as 8.2/8.5?
-
I even restarted all the Solarwinds services but still no joy. Any other ideas?

The HTTP User Experience Monitor included in the template is not going to work with HTTPS/SSL. You'll need to remove or disable this component monitor in the application template, then add an HTTPS Monitor to the application template. This component monitor is the same as the HTTP monitor you disabled in the step prior…

Based upon the screenshot you posted above, the poller is nearing its maximum limit. What's good is that your polling rate is still holding at 100%, but it's likely at times falling to 99% or lower. If you export the chart data, it's likely the polling is only falling behind a second or two from its schedule. The chart you…

The Windows Operating System is not aware of the status of any of the underlying hardware components without the installation of the 3rd party provided agent software. In your case this would be IBM Director. The hardware health information SAM collects is all vendor specific and not generically available from Windows…

How many Custom Pollers did you have defined and how many devices were they assigned to? If there's a known limit I'd love to know what it is.

The child status is based on the status of any/all applications being monitored on that node by SAM. By default "Worst" status is always reflected in the child status indicator, but all "Child Status" settings can be configured under [Settings - Web Console Settings] as pictured below.
-
Yes, provided the Orion server can access the SQL server, this is precisely what this option is for. It is designed for self monitoring of the system. I also recommend using SAM to monitor your Orion servers using the template listed below. This should provide some good visibility into potential polling issues. Orion Server

SAM 6.2 (currently in beta) allows you to monitor processes and services when they are running, and have them go into a neutral "Not Running" state when they're not running. This prevents alerts from triggering and red appearing on your dashboards for processes and services that run only as-needed, while still allowing you…

sum_giais is correct. If the Flow Storage Database is down, flow collection will cease and within the Orion web interface you will be unable to view NetFlow related information until the FSDB is brought back online.

FSDB does support a high availability configuration as outlined in the NTA Administrator's Guide. It does not use Orion's HA solution though. https://www.jtc-i.co.jp/support/documents/guide-e/OrionNTAAdministratorGuide.pdf (Page 116)
