The functionality you describe would be found in the NPM 12 beta.

That error suggests those files are locked and in-use by some process. Do you have antivirus installed on the Orion server? if so, have you defined an exception for the c:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Orion directory?

I appreciate your enthusiasm , but the beta is the absolute best time to bring to our attention any problems with the new features or functionality included in the release. We have the ability in most cases to address those issues before general release. Waiting until the release candidate to report issues or provide…

SAM does not as yet support custom properties for applications or component monitors. They are still node based. As for auditing, basic user auditing (who logged in/when/etc) will be something we include in SAM.

I honestly believe what you are encountering is a bug. I was temporarily able to reproduce, but I'm not entirely sure how. My theory is that this must be the only configured Custom Chart or Custom Table resource on the view, but honestly I'm not sure since I'm now not able to reproduce the issue. Worse yet, I'm not…

I wish I could take all, most, or even any of the credit, but alas I cannot. These ideas come from amazing users like bluefunelemental, implemented by an all-star cast of developers, and then tested by the hardest working QA team in the business.

This is a duplicate of the following request *

Server warranty status for Dell PowerEdge, HP Proliant, IBM xSeries, and pSeries has been added to SAM 6.0 RC (available now). You can sign-up here to download and try it out yourself.

As discussed in my following blog post, there are no licensing changes as it relates to the agent. The agent is essentially free. What you choose to monitor with the agent is entirely up to you, and whatever licenses are consumed are no different for the agent vs agentless. * SAM 6.2 Beta - Because sometimes you feel like…

mnutter wrote: Quick question. Dont i have to actually load SAM and NPM prior to this procedure? This procedure can be used with any Orion Platform module. If you don't own SAM or NPM, there's no need to install either of them. You can for instance, follow this same process if you only own IPAM, or NCM. If your question is…

If the IIS failover cluster has a shared Virtual IP, add that VIP as a node to Orion and then assign AppInsight for IIS to that node. This should monitor the IIS application regardless of which member is 'active'.

Yes, this should be possible using the method shown above.

This can be accomplished either using the Win32 Unmanage Schedule utility, or via the Orion SDK using the Windows Scheduled Task Manager.

The screenshot above was take from a Windows 2008R2 server, so it may be a permissions issue. Try again logging in to the server using the local administrator account.

SAM 6.0 is currently in beta now. You can sign-up to participate in the beta here.

No points I'm afraid, but I am offering a hearty pat on the back and "Atta boy" for finding a very obscure bug.

This field does retain the last entry used should the agent fall back into provisioning mode somehow.

I believe this feature request is covered by the ones below.

, I appreciate your concerns but this blog posting is regarding Server & Application Monitor (SAM), not Network Performance Monitor (NPM). This question may be better suited for the forum.

WPM saves historical screenshots for failures only. They can be accessed from the Step Details view for that failed transaction.

Have you used the Log Parser included in SAM 5.0? http://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-146188

Are you looking for application templates for these web servers and caching engines or is this a feature request to have Orion run on Apache etc?

SAM 6.0.1 should now be provisioned to your customer portal. It sometimes takes a day or two before it shows up for all users. Here you can see at least one person has noticed it appearing in their customer portal..

The ability to add custom chart labels in PerfStack is a feature request we are tracking internally under PS-996. The constraint of 10 metrics is limited only to real-time polling and is for each unique browser session. The limit can be adjusted, but it is there to limit any potential performance impact on smaller…

What specifically is it that you are wanting to monitor in AWS?
-
Correct, there is a reference to NPM within my blog post. This is because NPM provides some very basic server monitoring capabilities.SAM however expands far beyond NPM's base server monitoring to include visibility into the applications running on those servers, the underlying server hardware health, and much more.

You can follow the steps outlined in the KB article below if you don't wish to enable PowerShell 2.0 on your Exchange server. Alternatively, you can disable PowerShell 2.0 immediately after enabling it and it will fix the unresolved bug Microsoft has with PowerShell version compatibility that this KB article allows you to…
