If the template isn't working as it should against the Windows 2008 R2 host, I recommend opening a case with support, so we can troubleshoot and diagnose the issue properly and in a timely fashion.

Very nicely done PeterLyttle! Thanks for sharing.

SAM's Script Monitors Message Field name in the Web Based Alert Manager and Report Writer is "Error Message"
-
I have logged this as a feature request which we are tracking internally under FB342956.

What problem are you seeing? How are the nodes managed in Orion? What hardware vendor are using that is exhibiting issues?
-
The "-server xxx@xxx.co.uk" parameter/switch is not an email address, but rather the SMTP server blat will use to send the email.

SAM 5.2 will be GA very soon. All RC customers will be the first to receive early access to the RTM build. So if you haven't yet signed up to participate in the RC you can do so here.

To be fair, in my research I was unable to find any monitoring solution that was able to monitor Memcached on Windows. We did make several valiant efforts to create such a template, but unfortunately Memcached on Windows is an odd bird that is hardly if at all supported by the Memcached community.

Yes, this would be possible with a SQL report. I was just pointing out that this information is not available via the field picker in the report writer.

From what I've been able to determine the only change was a bug fix which corrects an issue where Asset Inventory was not collecting the correct date for when updates were last applied under some circumstances.

Support provided you misinformation. You should not be using the DAG template they recommended. In fact, that template is no longer included out-of-the-box for new installations of SAM. The functionality that template provided was replaced and significantly enhanced as part of AppInsight for Exchange. You must however…

Thanks for the update rippie. We'll still be sure to look into this but I'm glad it's working for you now.

The following are the steps required to enable WinRM that does not rely on certificate distribution. 1. If not already done so, install PowerShell 2.0 and WinRM on the APM and target servers. Powershell 2.0 can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968930. 2. On the Orion APM server, open a command prompt as an…

Was this template working prior to upgrading to Rollup 3?

I believe this is related to the following feature request. *

Is your Tomcat server running on port 8080?

wluther wrote: aLTeReGo The issue is definitely still occurring, and I have been replying to the support emails. My support window shows it in progress, but it may have been reopened. Would it be best to simply open a new case? Your last update to the support case two days ago stated I have been running the capture since…

I would recommend trying Windows Authentication and using the local or domain administrators account. The SQL server is likely running in mixed mode so Windows authentication should work just fine.

hughgt12, if you have an open a case with support regarding this issue please post your case number here. That will allow me to have your case escalated to the appropriate individuals.

Agent communication method is "automatic" when pushed from the Orion web interface. Automatic mode of operation is chosen at the first of agent initialization (startup). The agent attempts to communicate with the Orion server that pushed the agent. The Orion server waits to hear from the agent that was just deployed, and…

oops.. I should have read closer. You want use the "Syslog Message Pattern" not the "Message Type Pattern". It should look like the following screenshot.

We thought this was the most interesting part of the EnergyWise technology, to actually have the power going up and down on PoE devices. A reasonable thought, but given the green initiative here people are curious to know the power consumption from the network as a whole, not just from PoE switches.

At this point I think it's probably best to consult with a local Red Hat Linux expert, as this problem is not SAM specific in nature. At a minimum, consider taking this issue to a Linux specific community. My overarching concern is that any advice that I provide beyond what I already have, may do more harm than good. You…

This machine is managed via the Agent. The reason you are not seeing Asset Inventory information is that you have not configured the optional SNMP info in the node settings. Asset Inventory information on Linux is only available via SNMP, so even though the Agent is used, this information is still gathered locally using…

I've just checked. This looks like it is a bug. TT 5137 Is that to say we'll see a fix? I mean one that doesn't requiring upgrading to a product that doesn't exist yet?

I would assume the Global Zone, but since I did not write the script and don't immediately have access to a Zones host, I cannot say for absolute certain.

Well when I try to go to https://www.google.co.uk I'm redirected to https://www.google.com. If your trying to monitor https://www.google.co.uk and it's not working, it's likely due to the redirect. I would recommend pointing to https://www.google.com which appears to be the valid SSL/URL for Google.

This setting is stored in [dbo].[Pollers] table. See the example below with Status and Response time pollers. PollerID PollerType NetObject NetObjectType NetObjectID Enabled 19 * N.Status.Agent.Native N:3 N 3 TRUE 20 * N.ResponseTime.Agent.Native N:3 N 3 TRUE 21 * N.Status.ICMP.Native N:3 N 3 FALSE 22 *…

Go to [Settings -> All Settings -> Manage Pollers] Select 'Status & Response Time ICMP' from the list and click 'Assign'. Choose the nodes you want to enable ICMP Status Polling for and click 'Enable Poller'. Easy peasy

Are you running on SQL Express? You may want to consider opening a support case to look into the gaps in your data.
