Without getting into too much detail, (much of which I don't understand anyway) this is a new problem that exists in 8.1 only. Regardless if hotfixes 1-4 are installed or not, so I'm not really sure what guod is talking about. The problem appears to be with some SNMPv1 devices not responding to SNMP polls as the developers…

I updated my case with support, providing them the information they requested on the 10th. I haven't received any information back yet but I'll keep this thread updated as I receive information.

Have you tried running the script outside of SAM in a PowerShell Window on the Orion server, running against the remote host? What does the output look like? When testing, be sure to use the remote servers IP address and not the FQDN or hostname.

don't have anything concrete to share with you now, but would like to know more about what visibility/monitoring you would like to see in WLCs and wireless as a whole. I know this question wasn't directed at me, but I just wanted to say that I'd be happy if you provided the information currently included in the Wireless…

I also have two "All Nodes" resources on my main page and performance is greatly improved when I remove them. I haven't noticed a perceivable improvement since installing SP2.

Can you post a picture of what this looks like in SAM vs vCenter when a PowerSupply has failed?

I think I have to open a support ticket so we can get a WebEx session going. I've eradicated any and all instances of "SWToolSet.Engine" or "SWToolset.exe" from my client file system and registry. I've also deleted the browser Cache. On the Orion server I deleted the "SWToolSet.exe" from "c:\inetpub\solarwinds" and copied…

Can anyone help on how to disabled CPU power management? Depending on your hardware vendor that's controlled in BIOS. Give that a shot and post back your findings.

Thanks acherman, all your suggestions have been terrific. I really appreciate your assistance. I opened a case yesterday on this and worked with an engineer into the evening. As it ultimately turned out, it seems I found another bug. I think if I find one more I win a set of steak knives. One thing I neglected to mention…

In other words, Alterego, we have concluded that you are right, and we are wrong 648 posts and finally I'm right about something. It was bound to happen eventually. I look forward to being right again on my 1296th post. Thanks Denny.

By not working I mean that the tools all complain that they aren't installed when attempting to launch them via the Orion web interface, and none of the NetFlow tools are listed in the contextual menu. I've deleted the ActiveX control off my computer and reinstalled it. Once through the web, and again manually by double…

Ahhhhh..... right. How about trying to match the status value of the Trigger to the matching number instead of the text? Good idea! I tried... field Status is not equal to value 3 but that didn't work so I tried.. Status is not equal to 3 but alas, still no joy

Unfortunately that didn't work. Just to make absolutely sure which file is the latest here are the MD5 and CRC32 values for the files I have. c:\inetpub\Solarwinds\SWToolSet.exe - v7.6.0.86 Created 7/20/2005 - Modified 9/2/2007 MD5 - B5EA5C0CD95B0482760D25312D62EE1C CRC32 - 2E7EA574 c:\Program…

Nothing that I can share at this time but we've had a few customers who've implemented their own SAP monitoring using the Nagios script monitor in SAM and the libraries that are available on the Nagios Exchange. http://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Plugins/Business-Management-and-Logic/SAP/SAP-CCMS-Plugins/details

Have the TCP Port bindings been altered? * Exchange 2013 PowerShell Unavailable | Consulting Tales I would also recommend running Office Exchange Management Console Troubleshooter utility. Note that you will need to change 'v14' to 'v15' in the "EMTShooter.ps1" script for it to work with Exchange 2013.

It's difficult to say for certain but I would recommend looking at the Windows Event Log of the remotely monitored machine to see what errors are listed when these component monitors fail. This should give you a good idea of where to start troubleshooting.

I know I can attach files but I can't embed an image into a post. Those buttons are missing from the toolbar. I've tried FireFox 2.0 and IE7 but still no image or content buttons in the toolbar.

Let's separate node polling from application polling for a minute. Having changed the node from WMI to SNMP should eliminate these events from occurring for all node polling tasks. E.G. CPU, memory, interfaces, hardware health, asset inventory, etc.. SAM application templates can however use WMI/RPC or a host of other…

Are each of these processes monitored as part of the same template, or are each of the 10 of processes monitored in their own separate application template? 5% CPU utilization spike in the NET-SNMP process, while not ideal, is also not terribly uncommon. Various different versions of NET-SNMP have been known to exhibit…

Thanks for the update

This can be accomplished today by placing the components that make up the application into a group. From this group you can configure how you would like status to be calculated. This allows ultimate in flexibility in how and where you'd like statuses to be calculated for a each individual application or across multiple…

If SSH is blocked then likely other protocols are blocked as well. Can you access the SSL web interface of the ESX/ESXi host from the Orion server using those same credentials?

I would recommend deleting the alert and starting over fresh with a new alert. Fortunately you documented and even screen captured most of the alert configuration here in this thread.

I think the following KB article includes the script you are referring to. Migrate SolarWinds products to a new server with a new IP and hostname - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support
-
Agreed. I have reviewed the documentation with our InfoDev manager Bronx, and this will be corrected in the next update of the SAM Administrators Guide.

While I can assure you that you're not the only person monitoring processes with command line filters against a 2008R2 machine, the problem appears limited to SQL 2008. Most customers monitor Windows Services or Processes via WMI or RPC, so the fact that it only seems to affect certain Windows processes and not others…

The connection must be secure (HTTPS), but it's not absolutely required to use the self-signed certificate created by the Configure Server button. It's just easier that way. You can generate your own self-signed certificate by following the steps outlined in the KB below. Self-signed Certificate PowerShell script for…

I'm really glad you managed to get this issue sorted out. Thank you for updating the thread with your findings.

bryona, someone from our escalations group should be reaching out to you regarding your case.
