Yes, you can adjust the warning and critical thresholds by editing the assigned application (clicking the Edit Application Monitor in the top right of the screen when viewing the application). Since the page takes upwards of 10min, you will also need to adjust the polling frequency and timeout values, since if you poll…

There is only one Component Details view. It is not possible to customize this view for one application vs another, though any resources added to that view that are not applicable to the component type being viewed are hidden. You can however create custom application specific details views in SAM.

AppInsight for IIS, which is part of the SAM 6.2 beta, includes native Application Pool monitoring.

The SQL Agent Job status remains until the next time the job runs successfully, or the job is removed (if it's not working anyway then it should probably be removed anyway). In SAM 6.2 you can disable this component entirely if you don't care about the success or failure of SQL Agent Jobs for that SQL server instance.

To schedule maintenance time for nodes and applications you'll want to use the Unmanage Scheduling Utility on the Orion server under [Start -> Programs -> SolarWinds Orion -> Advanced Features]

Yes,deadlocks and such should be included in the out-of-the-box alert "Alert me when a component goes into warning or critical state". You can however create a more specific targeted alert for such conditions as shown below. Similarly, you can do the same for long running queries. The below example is fairly broad, but can…

SAM's file monitors do not support the use of date/time macros at this time. I would recommend posting this to the Server & Application Monitor Feature Requests section, look through the Server & Application Monitor Content Exchange to see if there's an existing template that meets your requirements, and/or post to the…

The following template may be what you are looking for. Custom Windows File Age and Count Monitor.apm-template

By default SAM's PowerShell component monitors are 32bit processes unless otherwise specified. I would recommend testing your script from within a 32bit PowerShell console window. You may find that you need to specify the path to the 32bit cmd.exe process.

Are both SQL servers bring monitoring with AppInsight for SQL? E.G. both the one you are currently monitoring, as well as the SQL server where the mirror resides?
-
You can find the Thresholds defined for the component monitor on the Component Details view on the Component Details resource pictured below. You will also see the thresholds when editing the application as seen below. Here is where you can make changes to the thresholds as well.

Have you looked at the template? Beyond that, you may want to consider looking to use Snare with the Orion Syslog server, or Log & Event Manager.

Have you tried using the following report at the link below? *

XenApp 4.5 approached End-of-Life in 2013, so there are no current out-of-the-box application templates for XenApp 4.5. That certainly doesn't mean however, that you couldn't create your own following the steps outlined at the links below. * Creating New Templates * Custom Application Monitor Template Example

There is not. You would need a 3rd group if you wanted to differentiate at such a granular level The other option would be to assign permissions at the user level instead of the group level.

I would say you're defiantly looking at the right product. Several of us here in the Thwack community are doing exactly that. Here are a few forum postings on the subject. I hope these help. Good luck. http://thwack.com/forums/p/4805/21043.asp

There is not. A carriage return signifies the end of the script output. You may want to consider restructuring the script as a multi-value script, which will support up to 10 unique statistic and message pairs in the following format. Statistic.Name1: x Message.Name1: abc Statistic.Name2: y Message.Name2: abc

Where is it that you want to see this information specifically? What view exactly?

I'm using Orion to monitor NetBotz equipment using SNMP, Syslog and SNMP Traps for alerts.

<All instances> is not a valid option as this is a reserve function for adding all available instances to Windows Performance Monitor. It does not sum the total of all instances as one might expect, but instead adds each instance as a separately monitored counter in the Windows Performance Monitor. You can try this…

The template is correctly configured by default. The metric returned by the counter is in milliseconds already. It does not need any conversion. Based on your returned statistic data your disk latency is about 25 milliseconds, which is actually a little high.

As the integration document references you can use SNMP Traps, Syslog, and email notifications to forward alert and event information from Orion to CA's Spectrum. If you have some development expertise or wish to work with professional services tighter integration can be obtained by leveraging Orion's API though our freely…

When you run the command "iostat -c 1 5" in one of the containers, is the resulting output that of the entire machine or just the container? I believe the result is for the entire machine and that container metrics use the "vmstat" command but I don't have access to a Solaris machine running containers right at this very…

Any word on Cisco AireSpace support?

Yes, the Log Parser Templates display the line matching the criteria within the Orion Web Interface as shown below.

Is there a particular reason why you don't want to use the VMware API?

The chart data is displayed in UTC time because that is how it is stored in the database. Out of curiosity however, what type of resource is being used here?

When defining the custom asset fields in the Custom Property Editor you must select "Asset Inventory" for these values to appear in the Custom Asset Information resource.
