There are quite a few users who have stated that they have moved from Compuware Gomez to SolarWinds in the forum. You might get more responses posting in that forum.

Have you considered using Custom Properties and and leverage the Orion SDK/API?

The template below might help get you started, but failing that you can create your own template for monitoring processes using the "Find Processes, Services, and Performance Counters" under <Settings -> APM Settings - > Find Processes, Services, and Performance Counters> Select "Processes Monitor - SNMP" then select your…

Can you please post a screenshot of what you're seeing? Have you tried re-running the website portion of the Configuration Wizard?

Sounds like you're looking for JSON/XML monitoring, which is a feature included in Server & Application Monitor 6.1 (Currently in Beta).

SAM was designed to monitor the status, health and performance of applications such as Active Directory. Monitoring group membership is not something that would fall into these categories. However, SAM is an extremely flexible product so while we may not provide an out-of-the-box application template this may be possible…

Since it sounds like you're using the same script in different components (likely with different command line switches specified for each component) have you considered copying the script to the server being monitored and calling it from the command line arguments instead of copying the script body into each component?
-
In that scenario you would use the HTTPS User Experience Monitor.

AppInsight for SQL does not perform database consistency checks, nor does it report upon the result state or when the last database consistency check occurred. This can however be theoretically accomplished using the SQL User Experience Monitor.
-
WMI does not allow for monitoring of nested Windows event logs. You will need to change the fetching method within the Windows Event Log Monitor to search within these event log types as discussed in the thread below. * TaskScheduler event monitoring

For a lab/test instance of SAM the minimum system requirements should suffice. All evaluations and betas include SQL Express, so no external database server is required. Since you plan to re-use this instance in the future for betas and release candidates, I would recommend using a Virtual Machine and snapshotting the VM…

Yes. This is typically fine for smaller installations. For larger ones however, you may want to consider separating the SQL database server and Orion application server onto different servers. All Orion based product evaluations (including NPM) come with SQL Express bundled in. The default 'Express' installation installs…

AppInsight for IIS, which is part of the SAM 6.2 beta, includes native Application Pool monitoring.

The issues is that the certificate used to encrypt and access the credentials stored in the database must be migrated from the original server to the new server. This process is outlined in the KB articles below. SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How can I migrate my credentials when upgrading Orion APM 3.5 to Orion APM 4.0 on…

It would appear as though you have the Orion Server template assigned to the your server. This component is in a warning state because the number of worker processes has exceeded the predefined threshold. If this occurs only when restarting services or rebooting the Orions server this may be acceptable, however if this is…

In theory, automatic dependencies should take effect when the ESX host goes down and the VMs running on that host should go into an unreachable status instead of "Down".

Have you reviewed the following KB article?…

Set the resource filter to VolumeType = 'Fixed Disk'

It's still not possible to add new tabs to the Orion web console. Tabs are currently exclusive to SolarWinds products. You can however add new menu bar options.
-
Windows Scheduled Tasks are listed under the "Applications" step of the Network Sonar Discovery. Deselecting this option will prevent Windows Scheduled Tasks from being monitored.

SQL Authentication cannot be completely disabled, but you can define the order such that SQL authentication should never be tried unless there is a Windows credential failure.

if you get an error message that contains using password: NO, it means that you tried to log in without a password.

Which component monitor types specifically are you trying to see this information?

You can use the SSL Certificate Expiration Date Monitor in SAM, assigned to your Cisco ACE, and configured for the HTTPS website you'd like to monitor the SSL certificate expiration on.
-
It's likely you caught this in the middle of being updated. The Additional Poller Package should be updated soon if it isn't already. I'll PM you with a direct link to download the package.
-
To the best of my knowledge this is not something that SolarWinds can tell you. In fact I don't believe this is part of the standard mibs for Linux or windows but an extension provided on a proprietary basis by your network card manufacturer. Believe it or not, interface speed and duplex is not part of Windows or Linux OS.…

The Orion web interface is only accessible from the active member in the pool.
-
Different component monitor types have different retry mechanisms but once a component monitor fails (including any possible retries) there is no wait for next poll. The application is marked as down. So to answer your question, the retry is immediate.
-
If the certificate had expired the component should not be in an "unknown" state. It sounds more like SAM is unable to gather information related to the SSL Certificate at all, resulting in that component going into an Unknown state. If SAM believed the certificate was expired it should report this state as "Critical". I…
