APM Administrative permissions require Orion Admin user account permission "Allow Administrator Rights" to be "Yes".

The JMX Monitor goes into an "Unknown" because it could be a connectivity issue, and not that the Tomcat application is really down. It's preferable to rely on something else that provides an affirmative response that the server is in fact reachable, but a critical process is not running. I this case I would recommend…

Orion's database Page Verify should always be 'CHECKSUM'. I can't explain how your database was set for Torn_Page_Detection, but I have verified 73 different Orion instances of varying age, modules, and versions and not a single one of them was set to 'TORN_PAGE_DETECTION'

Are you offering to pay for my airfare and lodging? ;-)

In order for a custom MIB to be graphable it must be defined as a "rate" or a "counter". RAW values are not graphable. You might want to try modifying this custom poller and make it look like the screenshot below.

It sounds like this server may be behind a firewall or router with access control lists. It might even be the local Windows firewall on the server itself that's preventing APM from properly communicating with the remote server.
-
SAM is fully capable of monitoring Windows Server 2008R2 servers via WMI. Please ensure the credentials you are using have Local Administrator permissions on that host. You may also want to reference our WMI Troubleshooting Guide.

A good starting place would be the Orion Server template.

Provided the node is managed via WMI or through the Agent, monitoring Windows Scheduled Tasks appears as an option for monitoring under "List Resources" as outlined in the following blog post. Server & Application Monitor 6.1 - New Feature Overview and Beta Sign-Up

When creating an Custom SQL Alert you select which database table the alert will be querying such as Nodes, groups, volumes, etc. as pictured below. More information can be found in the Administrators guide http://www.solarwinds.com/NetPerfMon/SolarWinds/OrionCoreAGSettingTriggerConditionAdvancedAlert_3.htm

Thanks Jason. This is being tracked internally as FB17721

As with any solution, the more frequently you poll the less you will be able to poll. The polling rate is indicting that you are reaching the upper limit of what a single polling engine can handle. I would recommend leveraging passive monitoring wherever possible to lessen your reliance on active monitoring. Utilize SNMP…

When creating a connection in the Failover Engine to manage FoE I use the loopback interface 127.0.0.1. If you need or want to see the status of FoE on the secondary server from the primary servers console then you can add a connection using the channel adapter IP address of the secondary server.

You'll need to create a Custom View for those users, then assign that view to their user account as pictured below. In the "Default Menu Bar and Views" section you can customize what view the user sees, as well as what menu bar that user will have when they login to the Orion web console.

Independent thresholds for memory usage, unique per-node, is something we're currently working on. It's important to note though, that you can be alerted today on individual/unique memory conditions for a specific host, or group of hosts by defining that criteria within the Advanced Alert Manager.

#1 can be done natively within APM today using the "File Count Monitor". #2 however, is something that would require some scripting. I would imagine it working by determining the oldest file in the directory and returning the number of days old that file is as the statistical value. Maybe someone in the community already…

Yes, repeating or "Nagging" alarms as they're sometimes refereed to are an option defined under the trigger action of the Advanced Alert. Below is an example for an email trigger action configured to send a notification every 5 minutes until the alert is reset.
-
This can be done fairly easily using the Custom Chart resource.
-
The installer itself downloads the files necessary over TCP Port 17777. Is that port open between the two servers?
-
It seems you're focused on the statistic monitors within this template, but in theory if you were experiencing replication issues with DFS then it's likely the Windows Event Log monitors within that template would have raised an alert and notified you.
-
Depending upon the complexity of the web application you may be able to utilize SAM's HTTP Form Login Monitor. If that doesn't work due to the web applications reliance upon cookies, javascript, etc. I would recommend using Web Performance Monitor instead.

It sounds like you're having problems with the Blackberry Delivery Confirmation template. Have you read the notes and modified the script accordingly for your environment? ' This script verifies that a Blackberry device is able to receive emails. If ' a BlackBerry is sent an email with a subject that begins with <confirm>,…

What version of APM are you running, and are you running APM on 64bit Windows?

You might want to start by checking out the Orion SDK forum.

The 'Hardware Agent' property under 'Asset Inventory' is what you're looking for.

In the case of Network Atlas Textures can not be used in conjunction with background images. There's no concept of image layering in Network Atlas that would be required for this level of functionality. You are also correct that you have no free draw ability in Network Atlas like you'd find in Microsoft Paint or other…

Have you met all of the prerequisite requirements? * PowerShell 2.0 and appropriate Exchange Management Tools (2007 or 2010) installed on the APM/SAM server. * The Monitored Exchange server must have the Exchange Mailbox role. * The APM/SAM server and the Exchange server must be in the same domain.

I'm not sure I understand your issue entirely. You're using the Orion Report Scheduler to send you a PDF report. Is that correct? This should send you a report via email that contains the report as a PDF attachment. Is the attachment not included in the email? Does the PDF file not contain the report data? Please explain…

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I've logged this under FB160391. Please open a case with support and reference this number. We would like to take a look at your diagnostics and see what's going on.
