I believe you're experiencing a known issue with Windows that's resolved with the following hotfix. FIX: An unexpected Failure Audit event is logged for the local credential when you run a .NET Framework 2.0-based application that tries to connect to a remote computer

It seems there is an issue polling/collecting the data from the host. While perhaps not the most intuitive "ESX Host polling status" means that polling of the ESX host is enabled and correct credentials are assigned. There are several predefined states that this field can show:…

Have you configured and assigned the Directory Size template to the nodes you would like monitored?

The SendPage functionality relies upon PageGate integration, a 3rd party component which is licensed and installed separate from Orion.

The indexes need to be rebuilt as outlined in the link below. * Reorganize and Rebuild Indexes

From Microsoft's TechNET The Address List Queue Length shows the load the Recipient Update Service is under. If this value is consistently high compared to your baseline, you should seriously consider upgrading the server that has this role, or transferring the role from a weak or overloaded server to a more powerful one.…

Absolutely! Just make sure all the devices (switches/routers etc) have SNMP enabled on them and are all accessible from a single server.

There is not retry mechanism within the PowerShell script monitor itself. Retries would need to be coded into the script itself if so desired. Rather than retrying it may be more prudent to determine the cause of the false positive condition. What is the error returned by the component when it's in this false positive down…

No. What you're looking for is a feature found in Network Weathermap. If you would like to see this feature in a future version of Orion add your name this this Orion feature request.

This can be done using condition groups as shown in the screenshot below.

The nodes listed in the NCM integration must also be managed nodes in Orion NPM (managed by the same IP address in both products) for them to show up in the NCM integration.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you want to be alerted when two processes are not running on all of your servers at the same time? Or are there two important processes running on each of your servers that you want to ensure are always running, and you'd like to be alerted if both of these services are stopped on any…

It's not natively possible today unless you consider using the "Export to PDF" option in the top right of the screen. With a little help from someone in the it should be possible create a custom SQL report that would include all the information you're looking for in a single, simplified report.

Using SAM's Real Time Process Explorer you can identify unique instances of processes by viewing the Command Line field pictured below. Using this information you can selectively filter which unique process you want to monitor in SAM's SNMP Process Monitor Command Line field.

If you're looking for a globally unique identifier for each alert then I would recommend using the '${N=Alerting;M=AlertID}' macro. If you're looking for a unique object ID for each managed entity, then use the appropriate ID variable. For example a node you would use the '${N=SwisEntity;M=NodeID}' macro. If it was a…

This is a known bug that was very recently discovered. It is being tracked internally under FB292118. This should only affect the message field showing redundant information in the Report Writer and alert messages.

Can you post a screenshot of the Trigger Condition as it's defined in the Advanced Alert Manager? The issue you're having is likely related to what's selected as the "Type of Property to Monitor". Only certain macros are available based on what's being monitored. For example, Volume macros aren't available when the…

There are plenty of users who place Orion Additional Web Servers directly on the Internet. I would however at minimum recommend requiring HTTPS/SSL to ensure any sensitive information is properly encrypted. I've also successfully used CheckPoint's Connectra as a clientless VPN that essentially acts as reverse proxy, SSL…

Yes, the Agent supports AppInsight applications. The only notable exception being SQL Clusters. These should be polled agentlessly. Agent requirements, including port/s used, are referenced in Administrator's Guide at the link below.…

Application templates are assigned to individual nodes, though you can run a Network Sonar discovery to quickly add a range of hosts to APM. Once the nodes are added you can assign any application template, or a number of application templates to a collection of nodes grouped by any of the categories displayed below such…

I believe the following thread discusses this topic in some detail. If after reading through this thread you still encounter issues, I would suggest managing the node using the Agent. * AppInsight for IIS

SAM 6.3 Beta 2 is now available which includes a Linux Agent for Node, Volume, Interface, and Application monitoring. This agent should address many of the shortcomings associated with monitoring Linux host via SNMP, up to and including properly calculating volume usage statistics referenced in this thread. If you already…

The following is mentioned in the APM documentation. Note: If you are running Windows Server 2008, you must upgrade to Windows Server 2008 R2, because SolarWinds APM does not support Windows Server 2008 due to known WMI issues. Do you have documentation that mentions the details? Yes, documentation that outlines the…

The Application Health Overview resource respects view limitations and account restrictions, but you cannot filter the resource directly. When you place the resource on a view, specify a limitation for that view and the Application Health Overview resource will display only applications that meet that filter criteria.

Multi-Edit of Windows Service Monitors in AppInsight for Exchange does not appear to be working correctly, even with the latest SAM 6.1.1 release. This is likely a bug. Please open a case with support so we can track this issue and notify you once it's resolved.
