The Orion server migration portion yes, but you would then need to migrate the SQL database server separately which would require some degree of downtime to re-run the Configuration Wizard.

I believe this issue, and its resolution, are outlined in the following KB article. https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/NPM-12-0-Installer-failed-on-Specified-MSI-install

I would recommend reviewing the following post > Orion Core: Resolve Common Slow Website Issues And specifically the following section. Symptom: Browsing the Orion Web Console, you get Request Timed Out. Cause: If the Orion web console was not being used heavily, IIS shuts down the worker process that handles requests from…

Have you tried using the Global Search located on the top navigation bar in the more recent releases?
-
The Web Interface design improvements listed above are specific to styling changes that should give Orion a more modernized appearance. Additional functionality such as you describe is not related to the the visual redesign of the Orion web interface.
-
This is not specific to an Orion version, or even SolarWinds specific. The issues identified are specific to ServiceNow's London release and affects all Orion versions as well as other 3rd party SNOW integrations.

AppInsight applications are dynamic based upon things like application version and roles installed. It's not at all recommended to forcibly apply an AppInsight Application to a node unless Discovery and List Resource are failing to properly detect the application.
-
You can. Simply create a proper hyperlink in the custom property and it will be linkable through the Custom Property resource as shown below using the following example. Insert "<a href="http://www.solarwinds.com">Visit SolarWinds</a>" as the value for your custom property as shown below for the "test" property". When…

This is already implemented and available in NPM 12.3 and SAM 6.6.1 as demonstrated in the screenshot below.
-
The Orion Service Manager is now available within the Orion Web Interface and can control services on the main and additional polling engines.

Founding member of the 300k club.. WOOT!!

Auditing - by remediation - are you talking about service restarts, server reboots? If so - Excellent! Yes, this will include auditing of service restarts through the Service Control Manager, server reboots, and other actions taken within the SAM web interface.

You are correct. Information exposed via SNMP is fairly limited. As such you would need to change the node polling method for Asset Inventory to collect the level of detail you are looking for. Unfortunately as you pointed out, Dell does not expose storage related status information via any other mechanism than SNMP.
-
Volume Mount Point Monitoring is only available for WMI managed nodes. Microsoft does not make this information available via SNMP.
-
An easier solution would be to poll this data using the SQL User Experience Monitor rather than via Windows Performance Counters. This is really the only difference between the following two templates. SQL Server 2005-2008 Performance (SQL) SQL Server 2005-2008 Performance (WMI)

Traps don't automatically affect the status of a node, but now that Syslog & Traps are incorporated into Orion's Alert Manager, you can define a custom status as a trigger action for an alert.

This method would not have been possible using Orion's Failover Engine, as it reqired that all members in a cluster be identical. E.G. same hardware and software versions. Orion High Availabiliy has no such limitation, and therefore can be used in a variety of different ways that the Failover Engine could not, such as…
-
Does it still show up under [Settings > All Settings > Polling Engines]? If so, there should be a delete/remove button next to that engine. If there is no option to delete/remove the engine, open Database Manager on the Orion server and run the following query. truncate table HA_FacilitiesInstances truncate table…

It does exist in SAM 6.8, but your screenshot appears to be from a specific database. The screenshot I posted above, I believe is from the SQL instance.
-
Please ensure that once you've replaced the DLL you open the file properties and click "unblock" before starting the Orion services.

It's actually been there since v3.something, but it's new to you.

What kind of information would you expect to see from something like an AppInsight for Java Application Servers?
-
, did you open any cases with support regarding either of these issues? The NIC teaming issue was reported by another user here on Thwack, but it was later determined that installing the WMI providers for the NIC resolved the issue. Can you confirm that you've installed the WMI providers for your network adapters? We've…

msinger, with NTA it's less of a migration than it is cutting lose the old flow storage database and starting anew on MSSQL. There is no ability to migrate the existing historical flow data in the Flow Storage database to MSSQL.
-
Thank you for clarifying. We are tracking this internally under SAM-7259.
-
Yes, Agents support Real-Time Polling
-
The Linux Agent will indeed monitor network interface statistics on the server in the same way SAM monitors server interfaces via WMI or the Windows Agent. This is limited right now only to the Linux agent however, not SNMP.

It's a long-held UX belief navigation menu items should align with user expectations for what they're wanting/trying to do. PerfStack, like AppStack before it, are branded terms which once explained make perfect sense. However, imagine you'd never heard of PerfStack before. What is it that you'd be trying to do within the…

Yes, it is as of the time of this posting.
