Going to any database details view you can click on "Data File(s) Size", "Log File(s) Size", or "Total Size" which will chart out the historical size of the database. Clicking on "Export" on the graph allows you to define your own custom time range as well.

Yes. You can unmanage those databases so they do not impact the status. In your screenshot above simply click the "unmanage" button next to 'Management'.

Since you are receiving an "Access Denied" message, that means the remote computer is actively refusing the connection and the issue is related to security permissions somehow. In other cases where I've seen this issue come up it has normally been a Group Policy setting that was overlooked. I recommend going over the…

Go to "Admin" > "NetFlow Settings" > "NetFlow Sources" and uncheck any interfaces you don't want to want to receive NetFlow data.

To granularity control when a transaction can run on a reoccurring basis (hour of day etc.) you will need to use the Unmanage Scheduling Utility.
-
You shouldn't need to modify the template itself as thresholds can be unique per-each assigned instance. Simply go to the Application Details view for the instance of SQL you wish to modify and click "Edit Thresholds" from the top right of the screen.

A NOC view may be added as a menu item, but not as a tab.

You can certainly execute an external script as part of an Alert Trigger Action, but SAM includes an out of the box alert preconfigured to automatically restart services when they're down called "Restart a service". You will see a listing of all trigger actions available to you below, including "Execute an external VB…

What if any error is shown when you drill into the application?

I have 30+ 1855 and 1955 blades with no issue. Are you sure you have SNMP installed, configured to allow connections from your Orion server and are using the correct community string? You should probably install Dell Server Administrator which is part of Dell OpenManage (Managed Node) solution. This will not only ensure…

Once AppInsight for Exchange is monitoring your Exchange servers, the default out-of-the-box application availability reports should provide the information you are looking for.

Currently node specific metrics, such as CPU Load. Memory, Response Time, Volume Space, and even Interface Statistics have global warning and critical thresholds. This will change for several of these items in the next release of SAM and NPM, allowing for individual thresholds to be defined on a per-node basis, including…

Yes, using Custom Properties for the node or application and using this information as part of the alert criteria is likely the simplest/easiest way of handling this. I know Leon Adato has make extensive use of this approach. Alternatively, if you have an automation system you could programmatically unmanage these nodes or…

If you're running SAM 5.5 have you tried using the Service Control Manager to start monitoring these services? If you're still running SAM 5.2 you can also use the "Browse For Component Monitor" wizard under [Settings -> SAM Settings] as pictured below.

If you want a normal user to call ps as root you have to look at the set-uid permission. From the setuid article on Wikipedia: setuid and setgid (short for "set user ID upon execution" and "set group ID upon execution", respectively)1 are Unix access rights flags that allow users to run an executable with the permissions…

The most common reason why email notifications are not received is that the SMTP server has not been configured or has been configured improperly. Your SMTP server may require authentication, or may prevent relying. http://www.solarwinds.com/NetPerfMon/SolarWinds/OrionAGAlertActionSendEmailPage.htm

This is the intent behind the 'All Alerts this Object can trigger' resource, but it does not appear to be working properly when placed on SAM's Application Details or Component Details views. I have logged this internally as a bug under SAM-3316.

Not really. I think your best recourse is to ask your sales rep for an evaluation license key. which you'll apply to your production environment. This should allow you to add an unlimited number of component monitors for a limited time. Once the license expires only the first 300 component monitors will continue to poll.…

There are no automated or scriptable methods for exporting alert definitions or application templates. The best recommendation I could make is to ensure the database is backed up regularly so you can restore it in the event of an accidental deletion. Your only other alternative is to manually export your alert definitions…

Only one instance of a service can be running on a server. Are you trying to determine the number of instances of a service running across multiple hosts, or are you trying to monitor the total number of instances of a process running? Multiple instances of a process can run simultaneously, just not services. There are…

This is not currently possible today in SAM. Your best bet is to monitor the Window Event Log for errors associated with failed tasks. This would however, be a great idea to post in the forum.

Applications that are managed properly would ideally be Green showing "up". Applications with problems might contain a yellow yield or red exclamation icon. Applications that are down will show "red". Unknown "gray" status icons are usually improperly managed applications, or there's some polling problem going on in…

The Orion IP Address Manager can definitely monitor the scopes on your Cisco devices.

We are aware of the issue that physical disks and array controllers are not monitored when polling ESX hosts directly. This issue is being tracked internally as FB103915. As for your non-ESX hosts, I can see that they're HP servers but I can't determine their polling method. Are these managed via SNMP or WMI? Have you…

How are these nodes being polled? Though the vCenter or Directly? You can tell by looking at the VMWare Settings page at the "Poll Through" option pictured below.

Orion Platform 2019.2 includes almost all of these submissions as of the time of this posting. For a complete listing, click the link below. https://documentation.solarwinds.com/archive/pdf/orionplatform/RC_Orion_Platform_2019-2_supported-vendors.pdf

If you're monitoring access ports on your switches you will probably want to edit those interfaces in Orion and enable 'Display interface as unplugged rather than down'. This should eliminate the alerts you are receiving on those interfaces.

The output of your script format does not appear to adhere to the requirements for SAM's Linux/Unix Script Monitor.

The following Active Directory template includes the following replication related metrics. Is there something more specific you were looking for? DRA Inbound Full Sync Objects Remaining The number of objects remaining until the full synchronization is completed (while replication is done). Note: This counter should be as…

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you'll need to purchase additional remote pollers for each of your remote locations. You would then assign nodes to a remote poller that you wish to be monitored from the remote location. These remote pollers can all use the same SQL database and the information can be rolled up into a…
