These audit events should appear in the "Last XX Audit Events" resource on the Node Details view. However for some reason they are not being reflected there, though they are in the Message Center. I've logged this as a bug internally under SAM-2846.
-
No, I don't believe that is possible.
-
Have you applied SAM 5.0.1. There are some fixes in that service release that may address your issue.
-
The easiest way to do this is without Putty, using NCM (Network Configuration Manager) as this Alert Action is built-in. The post you referenced above however is somewhat outdated and no longer applicable since the introduction of SAM 6.2, which includes a new web based alert manager that allows for impersonation on alert…

What version of SAM are you currently running? I would recommend upgrading to SAM 6.1 first. If that does not resolve the issue please open a case with support.
-
Have you tried creating your own application template?
-
byrona, can you confirm if you're running NPM 12.1 or SAM 6.4 which includes the 1.7 version of the Agent which should address this issue?
-
The difference is that the legacy Win32 report writer is rounding up. Web based reporting is showing the five most significant digits.
-
If these are Windows devices have you tried monitoring then with WMI rather than SNMP?
-
This can be done though the Advanced Alert Manager. Below is such an example.

That's a fair point and a good eye! Bronx is all over it, and should have this section revised in the next update of the SAM Administrators Guide. Thank you ttl for bringing this to our attention.

You may want to consider How to Migrate Orion to a New Server With Zero Downtime In addition to migrating with zero downtime, there is no requirement to deactivate/reactivate your licenses.

How many files/folders are you attempting to get the size of? This process will take as long to crawl the directory structure as it does to right click on the folder, click properties, and the number of files and size to fully calculate. In some cases this could take upwards of 10+ minutes depending upon the number of…

This detection is triggered based on the very small (read "efficient") RPC queries made by the Orion server. This is not common traffic one would expect to see when using RPC, as it's fairly unique to monitoring systems like SAM. SAM asks for very small pieces of information, and the returned values are typically very…

I've logged this internally for investigation under FB272478. Can you verify if the following website shows correct/accurate information? http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/weInput?cc=us&lc=en

The ability to exclude specific events from the Windows Event Log Monitor in AppInsight applications is a feature request we are tracking internally under FB342811.

This is where information is stored for User Experience Monitors, Windows Performance Counters, WMI Monitors, JMX Monitors, etc. etc. This is where the majority of historical application performance data is stored in the database so it's not unusual for this table to be large. After 90 days (by default) the size of the…

The only reason I could imagine why you would be receiving an error like this is if either the domain name was not specified as part of the user name E.G. "domain\username". If that's not the case I recommend applying the template manually to the node by going to [Settings - SAM Settings - Manage Templates] Then selecting…

If you have a dynamic DNS environment you can add these nodes by their DNS name instead of by IP address and then check the "Dynamic IP Address" check box when adding the node to Orion.

Which template are you using and what version of MSSQL are you running?

Do you have Server & Application Monitor? Have you deployed the Linux agent to that machine, or are you monitoring the Linux machine via SNMP?
-
Agreed this would add cost, and perhaps I shouldn't have said native. What I think would be cool is if SolarWinds made a Netflow product that tightly integrated into Orion. That way those people who would otherwise buy a separate Netflow application could instead have it as a pay-for bolt-on into Orion. I'm willing to pay…

NetFlow support native in the Solarwinds product would be AWSOME!!
-
Have you tried granting those users the "SAM User Role" "Admin" permission, but not given them "Node Management" or Orion Administrator permissions?
-
SAM 6.1 included support for node specific variable thresholds, such as CPU, response time, etc. NPM 10.7 also introduced independent interface thresholds. Volumes however do not as yet have the ability to configure independent, individual thresholds separate from the global volume thresholds.
-
If you need to monitor each unique instance of w3wp.exe then you should create a process monitor for each, using the command line filter as pictured below.
-
I recommend you enable debugging on the application template, run the SolarWinds Diagnostic, open a case with support and provide them the diagnostics so they can help troubleshoot this issue further.

It sounds like you're wanting to do a server migration. The following blog post contains essentially all the information you might need to successfully migrate to a new server. How to Migrate Orion to a New Server With Zero Downtime
