Could you post the contents of the SolarWinds Setup Log Files referenced in the link above? Also, what version of NPM are you currently running on this machine? You should be running NPM 11.5.2 if you are installing SAM 6.2.2.

How did you enable AppInsight for Exchange? Please sure the Exchange server is a WMI managed node in Orion. Then click "List Resources" from the Node Details of the Exchange server and select AppInsight for Exchange. If you manually assigned AppInsight for Exchange to the node, ensure you remove it before using the "List…

If you are trying to move the database from one server to another, the proper way would be to backup the database on your SQL 2000 server and then copy the .BAK file to your SQL2005 server and perform a restore. Works like a charm every time.
-
If the text is purely arbitrary and not contained within the database, the easiest method would be to add it to the database using Custom Properties and include that field within the report. Otherwise the only other option I see available would be to write a custom SQL query which adds phantom arbitrary text in the…

What does the output of the script look like when run from the command line?

I believe this is discussed in the following thread. Is it possible to call a PowerShell script from the "Execute program" Alert Action in the Advanced Alert Manager?

It's likely that you're encountering a known issue with Windows Server 2008 R2 where the Remote Registry service leaks memory and ultimately crashes. This issue is documented in the KB articles below with a hotfix that resolves the issue that can be download from Microsoft here. * SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Remote…

APM doesn't support Regex pattern matching for processes, but I have logged this as a feature request. We're tracking it internally as FB97476.

SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor, as the name suggests, is focused primarily on monitoring applications, and the servers those applications reside upon. For network devices, such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, load balancers, etc. you should look at our Network Performance Monitor. It…
-
Provided SNMP is enabled and configured on the Unix host you should be able to list resources on the node and select the volumes you want to monitor as pictured below.
-
It definetly looks like you're getting your moneys worth out of SLX
-
You cannot query the status of network volumes mounted on a host via WMI no more than you could map a drive to it. Let me explain. On your Orion server you have a network drive "Z:" pointed to some network location. Let's say it's "\\remote.server.dom\F$" No network machine, or even the local machine can map to that path.…

What process/s are consuming the majority of resources on the Poller? Also, what operating system are your pollers running on? Which Orion product/s version/s are you running on the poller/s? What you're describing should not be occurring, but is rather a symptom of a problem rather than being the problem itself. We would…

How are these ESX hosts being polled? Directly, or through a vCenter? I suggest you try both methods (direct and through vCenter). Most customers typically manage their hosts through the vCenter but try polling these servers directly through the Virtualization Settings to see if this resolves the issue.

It is likely an impersonation issue. Orion runs as a Windows Service under the local system account, so any impersonation required to access remote hosts needs to be handled within the script. Another option would be to use to use the Agent included in SAM 6.2, then the script would run locally on the server where the…

For SQL instances monitored by AppInsight for SQL you can create a new report and add the "Edition" field, which will populate with the name of the SQL Server Edition being monitored. E.G. Standard, Enterprise, etc.
-
Can you email these mibs to mibs@solarwinds.com ?

Orion is extremely flexible so this certainly can be accomplished, either on an individual user level or group based if you're using Active Directory integration. Simply create a new node details view, summary view, or any other type of view for the user containing only the resources you want them to see and assign it to…
-
This can actually be accomplished using the Custom Table Resource as shown below.
-
Yes, this can be added to the alert notification email message body using the ${AcknowledgeURL} macro.
-
You can add a report to any view using the "Report from Orion Report Writer resource, duplicate any existing resource and place it on a summary view using the Custom Object resource, even chart statistics across multiple instances of an application using the Multiple Object Chart resource. To add any of these resources…

Hardware monitoring in SAM is simply a centralized reflection of how your servers hardware health status is reported by the servers themselves. Dell doesn't provide reason or explanation as to why these components are in this state via SNMP or WMI so it's not possible to filter out driver related issues. This is actually…
-
If you don't mind me asking, what kind of firewall is your Orion server behind?
-
Are you referring to node discovery or application discovery? Application discovery is already a granular permission granted by the SAM Admin user role. Node discovery is a function of the Node Management permission.
-
Can you provide a screenshot of what you're seeing in the Orion web interface?

Please post (or look) in the following log file located on the server you're attempting to monitor with AppInsight for IIS for more details related to the error. "C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Logs\APM\RunWinRMConfigurator.log"

This user submitted template is a simple SNMP process monitor for "safeservice.exe". If the template is failing it may be that the node is an ICMP only node and not managed using SNMP. It also could be that this process name was changed in a more recent version of the Mcafee GroupShield software. The template was created a…

You will likely need to create a new custom table report using the "Caption" field of the Processor and counting the discrete number of instances as pictured below.
-
Specifically, what component monitor in which application template is alerting you to an issue?
