You have some limited ability to control this today by placing only those tasks you wish to monitor in the root, and those you don't wish to monitor in a sub-folder in the Windows Scheduled Task Manager.
-
This should already be possible today using the 'Run the script under specific account' option.

The process actually wouldn't be too much different. The only real difference is that you'd start by breaking your existing pool and shutting down or destorying that VM before proceeding with the steps above. Obviously, since you own an HA license already, you would skip all of the 'clean-up' steps. That would get you half…

This is outlined in the following video starting at 4:40. You can ignore the references to NOC view, but the same principals apply to what you're trying to achieve. [VIDEO] Application Stack Management Dashboard

Power Supplies aren't valid for a blade server. You would need to monitor the blade enclosure itself if you wanted to monitor on the state of the Power Supplies.

I'm sorry johnuk that you find no value in SAM beyond this feature. We strive with each and every new release of SAM to exceed customers expectations by consistently improving the product and delivering on the ideas the community. To my knowledge, I'm not aware of any solution in the market today that provides the level of…

We are tracking this internally under case SAM-655.

If you're trying to bulk enable the 'Configure Server' action, this can be done using the Remote Execution Enabler for PowerShell free tool.

PerfStack should display metrics in the timezone of your browser, rather than the time of the Orion server. Is this not what you're seeing?

You will need to follow the steps outlined in the following KB article before disabling TLS 1.0 and 1.1. Orion Platform encounters issues after disabling TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

This is likely an issue with a broken performance counter on the Exchange server. The KB below outlines the steps needed to repair Exchange's counters. * SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: AppInsight for Exchange: Missing performance counter.

Great question designerfx! The scenario you describe should not occur as all modules should be releasing together with the Orion Platform, further bringing order to the chaos.

It's not likely that SRM itself would utilize the agent to monitor servers, but similar to our Windows Agent, SRM may extend the information collected to include data necessary for end-to-end mapping of host to backend storage.

Not at this time. Baselines are dependant upon the last 7 days of collected data (configurable), but is it not currently possible to target a specific date/time for which to build the baseline.

Unfortunately there is not at this time.

Thank you yaquaholic. I wasn't stating that this is an unsolvable problem, or that it's one that we're not interested in solving (I upvoted it myself ). I was simply pointing out some of the challenges we face which make this non-trivial. That doesn't mean we aren't making improvements in this area. As you will see when…

This conversation would probably be better suited for the Server & Application Monitor forum rather than the Product Blog. Could you post a screenshot of what you're seeing in the System Information resource? I'll assume this is occurring only for a single node, is that correct? If not, then is it possible the System…

Have you previously installed a SAM beta on this same machine? I'm thinking your license may be expired due to the installation of a previous evaluation or beta on this machine.

This appears to be the multiple object chart resource.

It's something we began working on late in the SAM 6.1 release, but as you can imagine this is not a small endeavor. I will be updating the "What We're Working on Post" sometime next week to reflect the items we are currently working on since the release of SAM 6.1. This particular item will appear in that post as well.

SAM 6.2 (currently in beta) allows you to monitor processes and services when they are running, and have them go into a neutral "Not Running" state when they're not. This prevents alerts from triggering and red appearing on your dashboards for processes and services that run only as-needed, while still allowing you to…

The issue may not at all be related to the number of Syslog messages. it sounds more likely it could be caused by a device sending malformed, corrupted or messages otherwise containing characters or structures not supported by the Syslog RFC.

wluther, this is some excellent feedback. Could you provide some insight into how you're using PerfStack today, or how you plan to use PerfStack in the future in our latest What Would You Do with PerfStack? post? Your ideas may be inspirational to others in the community .

You should have received an email from me earlier today with links to download SAM 6.0 RC2. If you can't find it, let me know and I will resend it.
