Excellent work Justin Walker. I've taken the liberty of posting this as a Report here in the Content Exchange, available for download at the link below. Credentials Used By WMI Nodes

Two words... Bad - Ass

This is a report, so it must be downloaded then imported into Orion. E.G. Home -> Reports -> Manage Reports -> Import Report

Neither NPM or SAM allow you to monitor the health and performance for VMware exclusively through SNMP because that information isn't made available from VMware via SNMP. SNMP is limited to basic performance metrics for the host itself, such as CPU and volume usage. For all things VMware this information is collected using…
-
Hardware health is polled through the VMware API for ESX hosts, but you don't need a special license to do so.
-
SAM fully supports Hardware Health Monitoring of VMWare ESX hosts. No vendor supplied agent software is nessesary. This is all handled by VMWare itself. How are you monitoring the ESX host? Is it managed directly in Orion or through the vCenter? I would recommend first trying to manage the ESX host directly, and if that…

This template has been superseded by AppInsight for SQL included in the Server & Application Monitor (SAM) 6.0 RC available now! Sign-up here and try it for yourself!
-
That is because this template has been zipped. You won't be able to directly import it into SAM through the Thwack integration. You will need to download the template from here using your browser, then unzip the file, and upload/import it manually into SAM.

This template was updated in 2011. We've since updated it a few times more since then. The latest version of this application template is included in SAM 5.0.1

I believe this is outlined in the KB article below. SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: AppInsight for SQL Requirements and Permissions

This is true if the message queue is filling and not writing out to the database at all, but if a particular message queue is simply getting backed up (like interface monitoring for example) then the Orion template would certainly notify you of that condition.
-
The "isServer" property is calculated automatically by Orion, the results of which can be seen in the 'Servers' category within the AppStack environment.
-
FYI: SAm 6.2 and NPM 11.5 include a new "isServer" property type with a boolean value that is constantly updated by Orion. This property can also be used in Alerting and Reporting.
-
This is logged locally and looks like.. var logInfos = volumesToRemove.Select(v => $"[Id:{v.VolumeId}, NodeId:{v.NodeId}, Name:{v.Caption}"); log.Info($"Following stale volumes will be removed: {string.Join(Environment.NewLine, logInfos)}");
-
Orion Platform 2019.2 includes the ability to automatically delete these 'unknown' volumes. For more information, check the link below. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/docs/DOC-204353#jive_content_id_Automatic_Removal_of_Unknown_Volumes
-
You would need Server & Application Monitor to utilize this application template.
-
I should point out that SAM 6.2 and NPM 11.5 will automatically update the World Map based on the devices SNMP Location Field. While perhaps not as flexible as Custom Properties, it is helpful in situations where the SNMP Location is properly populated since it's essentially automagical from there.

One word... Impressive!

If your Additional Web Server is nowhere close to 100% utilization, then you will likely see zero benefit from adding additional CPU resources to that server. Website performance is primarily bound to SQL database server performance, but it can (and is) similarly bound to the performance of the primary/main Orion server.…

omavel wrote: So if I have poller rate 100%+ on my SLX, is STACKABLE POLLER LICENSE a solution? Yes. If you are hitting the polling limit you can stack another poller on top to double its capacity.
-
dfairles, what then would happen to those customers who are polling 20k or more elements without an additional polling engine if we limited the SLX to 12,000 elements? The 'X' license is not in any way limited in the number of elements/components/etc. which can be polled. These number of 'things' are truly unlimited.…
-
dfairles, for many customers they don't require additional NCM/IPAM/VNQM 'capacity' and are only approaching the upper bounds what NPM or SAM can poll using a single poller. If you're nowhere close to approaching the scalability limit for those other products, then the hardware, OS licensing, VM licensing, and other…

This is a report written in the legacy Win32 Report Writer application. It must be copied manually to the 'Reports' directory on your Orion server. The default location is 'C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Reports'.
-
Not at all. The existing Syslog & Traps functionality will remain until such time as a replacement for this functionality is provided as part of the Orion Platform. This will be included in NPM, SAM, and other Orion product modules which currently include basic syslog/trap functionality.
-
When the Win32 syslog/trap applications are eventually replaced, equivalent functionality to support NCM's Real-time change notifications will be provided in their replacement.

RADIUS and TACACS+ are very different from SAML.

This is a report written in the Legacy Win32 Report Writer application. As such, you will need to download the file and place it in the 'C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\Reports' directory on your main Orion server.

That is correct. All values are stored in the database in the vendor's native unit of measurement, being Celsius.
