SAM 6.3 Beta 2 is now available which includes a Linux Agent for Node, Volume, Interface, and Application monitoring. This agent should address many of the shortcomings associated with monitoring Linux host via SNMP, up to and including properly reflecting the Linux distribution and version running. If you already own…

Despite the name, the SQL error log contains all messages from the SQL server not just hard errors. You can see this information in the SQL Server Management Studio yourself following the steps below. * In Object Explorer, expand a server, expand Management, and then expand SQL Server Logs. * Right-click a log and click…

For BusyBox embedded Linux distributions uname and lsb_release won't work for step #1. Instead, you'll need to use the following command in its place. busybox | head -1 | awk '{ print $1 " " $2}'

Downgrading should not be necessary. If you can continue to use the IE Recorder/Player in the latest release which continues to support Windows Integrated Authentication.
-
Before (or after) decommissioning the device you can unmanage the node essentially indefinitely, which will retain the Asset Inventory data collected for reporting purposes.
-
SAM 6.0 (currently available in RC) includes full server asset inventory collection, including server warranty status reporting and alerting. Sign-up here and try it for yourself!

* I am checking the HA setup option to migrate the Orion server to cloud? I have my primary Orion server as Windows 2012, can I setup secondary HA server a Windows 2016 server ? Yes. See my post on Zero Downtime Migration here where I use this as an example > thwack.solarwinds.com/.../492985 * What will be the migration…

From the error it looks like Log Viewer/Analyzer was once installed and then removed, but there is still a lingering registry key. Follow the steps outlined in the KB article below to fully remove Log Analyzer and then re-run the Configuration Wizard…

Great share sum_giais! Typically most customers I've see use HA with InfoBlox use the native built-in TSIG Key method that's under 'BIND DNS'. This works with a wide variety of other 3rd party DNS solutions on the market, not just BIND itself.

Leon, rolling old skool with the Win32 Report Writer.
-
See the following posted report -> SAM Component & Element Count Per-Polling Engine
-
That's separate/independant from NPM
-
Approximately 8-10k SAM components per-poller on average is what we typically see before an additional poller is needed.
-
Have you confirmed that the trap source IP address is the same IP address that the node is managed by in Orion?
-
This capability is natively included in AppInsight for Exchange, which is part of the SAM 6.1 release, currently in beta.

Yes, Absolutely!

Most certainly @"ryan88"!

Thank you for sharing evanr. If you haven't yet had an opportunity to checkout AppInsight for SQL in the latest SAM 6.0 beta I welcome you to do so. It includes table row count information out of the box.

You can add this resource to a view using the Custom Object Resource.

Virtualization Manager includes snapshot management in their latest 6.2 release. * VIRTUALIZATION MANAGER 6.2 BETA 1

Hmm.. it seems it's missing its '.poller' extension and that is what's causing the issue. Rename the file you downloaded and add .poller to the end and try again.

The report is written in SQL, so you would need to add the appropriate ascending/descending statement to the SQL query. E.G. ORDER BY column_name,column_name ASC|DESC;

Disabled is a specific dedicated function where hardware health information has been detected, but has been manually disabled for the host. If you're looking to enable Hardware Health for all nodes which are capable of supporting it then you'll need to run a scheduled discovery to enable this functionality en masse.

Here's the link to Alminair's Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) 5.0 SP1 APM template mentioned above based on SNMP. Thanks Alminair for your contribution!
