If you're migrating your main Orion server, then you'll need to reclaim your licenses prior to the migration. E.G. Go into license manager on the old server, deactivate the licenses, install on the new server, apply license keys to the new main poller. Note that this should be done for ALL licenses that appear in the…

I'm glad to hear you managed to get the issue sorted out. As you may have heard already, we're currently working on an optional agent for SAM that will allow you to monitor applications on hosts across domains where no trusts exist. This same agent will also allow you to run vbscript, perl, or any other scripting language…

Terrific! Glad to hear you got it working. Thanks for reporting back.

I believe jezmarsh is correct. To change the polling method from ICMP to WMI follow the steps outlined below. 1. Click "Manage Nodes" from the "All Nodes" resource on the Home Summary view. 2. Select the node you want to change and click "Edit Properties". 3. Select "Windows Servers: WMI and ICMP" and enter the…

SAM's HTTPS User Experience Monitor will detect if the certificate has been revoked and alert you to that effect should that occur.
-
At this time SAM does not provide Citrix user reporting services like the ones described above.
-
AppInsight for IIS, which is part of the SAM 6.2 beta, includes native Application Pool monitoring.
-
If the machine being monitored is running Windows 2008 R2, the following KB article should resolve the issue. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2699780

SQL Compact Edition 3.5 is not removed upon upgrade, though Orion Platform 2018.4 no longer relies upon it. Instead, Orion Platform 2018.4 utilizes SQL Compact 4.0. We do not uninstall SQL Compact Edition 3.5 automatically as we have no way of knowing if there are other products and solutions installed on the same server…
-
SQL Compact Edition is no longer used in Orion Platform 2018.4, which is included with NPM 12.4.
-
There is currently no way in which to get SQL CE 4.0 SP1 to work with Orion. Rest assured, however, that there are zero known vulnerabilities with SQL CE 3.5 and therefore poses no security risk. We are aware of SQL CE 3.5 being EoL and are actively taking action to address.

Brian, looking at the case notes it looks like Erica may have provided you with a solution. Can you verify if that worked for you?
-
It's going to be difficult to diagnose without a MIB walk from the device. Please open a case with support so we can determine why there are multiple RAM volumes appearing in List Resources. As an alternative, there is an extended SNMP Agent for AS/400 and iSeries Servers that should be able to provide a wealth of…

WHen you say 'can't see traps' do you mean the those users don't have the menu bar option to access those pages or that when they go to the trap viewer page there are no traps listed there for those users?
-
What version of APM are you running and are you running APM on 64bit Windows?
-
javier.martinez2, you'll want to pass the domain as part of the user name. You should be able to use domain\username (which is the preferred method) or username@domain.
-
It's not a hard and fast rule, but I would recommend making the Polling Frequency the same as the Polling Timeout value. At worst the job will remain running through to completion and immediately another job will kick off if the job was running longer than the polling frequency value defined.
-
Negative. The wildcard is not a valid character to collect all instances on a Windows Performance Counter. There is currently no way in SAM to specify all instances returned by a counter. These instances must be specified explicitly in the component details.

Petr Vilem is always right. There should be an automated Thwack rule that marks any reply he posts as the correct answer.

epenney, an 8 hour upgrade is extremely unusual. If you'd like to determine why the upgrade is taking so long, I suggest opening a case with support. We'd be interested in looking a diagnostic before and after the upgrade to give us a better idea where the slowdown is occurring in your installation. Another option would be…

Did the Agent(s) actually update themselves to the latest version automatically, or are you just seeing that Updates are Pending under Agent Management? Even with Automatic Updates disabled, the agents will still be flagged as needing to be updated within the UI. They should not, however, actually update themselves unless…

Have you verified the account has the proper permissions needed as outlined in the following KB? https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/Configure-Microsoft-Azure-for-cloud-monitoring-in-the-Orion-Platform?language=en_US

You could move to modern charts where these timeframes are accessible to all users but do not persist or affect all users of the system

Sounds like a good candidate for the Orion Remote Collector.

Based on what you've described and the screenshot provided it looks like maybe you tried to assign AppInsight for SQL to a cluster member, and not the cluster VIP. Is that what's going on here?
-
Agreed. I would suggest stopping all Orion services, including IIS and deleting all contents of the "c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files\root" directory. Once completed, start IIS and then all Orion services again.

First and foremost this is a SeUM usability study. That's why Kellie is looking for customers who haven't used SeUM before. She would like to get a better understanding of how new users interact with the software and determine if the interface is intuitive to someone not familiar with the product. She's not trying to sell…
