The first issue which should/may resolve the others is to determine why AppInsight for Exchange is unable to connect to your Exchange server. This is what the "Unknown" state is reflecting. I would recommend increasing the allowed connections and memory per-shell as outlined in the KB article below to see if that helps…

There may be occasion where the CRL server is inaccessible. This is just a theory, but it would explain the intermittent nature of the issue. Below are some issues related specifically to the Orion web interface when the CRL is inaccessible, but this can be equally applicable to really any application that uses…

Clicking "Poll Now" on the Application Details Management Resource should force a poll of all components in the application. Keep in mind It may take as long as 10-15min to poll all components depending upon how many sites and application pools you have. A heavier handed approach would be to remove the application and…

The alert you configured is fairly straightforward and should work as-is. I'm not sure I follow your workaround but you should ensure that you are running the same versions of all modules on both your primary Orion server, as well as each additional poller. This remains true for all service packs and hotfixes as well. I…

Is it possible that you're using an account to monitor your SQL server that is not "sa", "Administrator" or equivalent and might not have access to those databases by default?

The following templates would be the closest SAM equivalent for a log file monitor. * Windows -> Log Parser (PowerShell) * Linux/Unix -> Log Parser (Perl) There are some other community created templates as well * Windows -> Log Parser (VBScript).apm-template * Windows -> Log Parser (powershell) w/Message Returned * HPUX…

ckumarb wrote: I got confused here !!! is it required to run the configuration wizard on management server and APE's during the DR ? No, there is zero requirement to run the Configuration Wizard on the server after a failover has occurred. Failovers are seamless and transparent events.

They are listed there in the image you posted as the "HTTP Monitor" and "HTTPS Monitor"

If the script is executed locally on the Orion server itself then the PowerShell Snap-ins will need to be installed on the Orion server. If you are using remote PowerShell (WinRM) then the Snap-ins will need to be available on the remote host. I suggest working with the PowerShell script on the Orion server itself outside…

bobross is correct. You can even do partial matches such as ApplicationTemplate.Name like '%exchange%' This would display all applications that contain the word "Exchange" in them.

What types of components is this occurring with?

Yes, you can add these nodes directly via SQL but they will not be polled if they exceed your maximum allowable license count. Spanish: Sí, usted puede añadir estos nodos directamente a través de SQL, pero no se le encuestados si superan el recuento de licencias máxima permitida.

The initial creation of the groups may be time consuming initially, but their maintenance thereafter should be minimal provided you are using dynamic groups.

File fixed in the Content Exchange. Something must have gone awry with the upload the first time around.

Slightly improved version posted to the Content Exchange at the link below. * Windows Share Monitor

In theory this could also be scripted and automated using the Orion SDK. Pulling this information via the VMware API and populating custom properties in Orion via the Orion SDK would be the most elegant approach, but certainly not the simplest method suggested.

According to the below KB article, the minimum version of Web Toolset that supports SQL 2016 is 11.0.6. Windows Server 2012, 2016 and 2019 and SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017 Support - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help an…

Only new templates should be imported during the upgrade process. Existing templates should otherwise remain intact and unaltered both during upgrades and when the Configuration Wizard is run. If your findings contradict that statement please open a case with support so we can investigate this issue further.

Hmm. That's odd. It's unlikely to change the result, but it's worth trying. Assign Citrix XenApp 5.0 ICA Session WMI Counters template to the node, then edit the settings of that assigned application. Then try changing the "Platform to run polling job on" setting. Finally, test one of the component monitors to see if this…

That is correct. Core 2017.3 HotFix 2 has been released which addressed this issue. It's available for download now through your Customer Portal.

Removing the threshold entirely will ensure the metric is never in a warning or critical state. This is the recommended approach if you do not care about a particular metric. This can be set at both the template level so that it applies to all SQL instances, or at the application level when you want control over just a…

Do you currently have an open case number for this issue? If so, can you post it here?

nks7892, I have requested that your case be escalated.

Orion's SNOW integration should reopen tickets only if they are in a 'Resolved' state. If you are seeing tickets in a 'Closed' state reopened then this could be based upon your configuration settings. a) On what state is defined as Reset state in alert action b) if known closed state IDs are defined correctly in ServiceNow…

No worries. Sorry for the confusion.

You could write a script that queries this information and includes it in the "Notes" field of the alert using the Orion SDK. You would then want to delay the sending of the alert notification by a minute or two using alert escalation so the script has an opportunity to fully run and populate the notes field of the alert…

The default "warning" threshold for this counter is "20", which may be low for a large multi-product Orion instance. You may want to adjust this threshold according to your environment based on historical levels.

Thanks for the update neilgmt. Out of curiosity, what is your case number?
