Most cloud services provide some level of information available via a web services API that can be queried from Windows using the appropriate PowerShell cmdlets. These APIs are designed primarily for automating server provisioning, shutting down unused instances and such, but there is state information and very basic…

Ooops.. Somehow I missed that. My next stupid question is this. Do I still apply service packs to the APM additional web server?

This would be a question better suited for stevenwhunt, as he is now the Product Manager for SAM.

Why not use the custom html/text resource?

This could very likely be related to NPM 10.7 and their interface baseline calculations.

designerfx is correct. The KB article below outlines the necessary software provided by your vendor for Hardware Health information to be available for monitoring in SAM. * SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Latest required software used to monitor hardware health.

You know what goes well with Load Balancers? Apps! I'll bet jeffnorton, Joe Dissmeyer, and xander.snyder would be great candidates.

Denny, could this be a Windows Vista issue? I've noticed that since moving to my new Vista machine and installing the Engineers Edition Toolset v9.0 the integration with Orion has been broken. I've repaired/reinstalled and recently even upgraded to v9.1, but still I get the message "SolarWinds (insert tool name) is not…

is correct. Disk I/O information is only available when the node is managed via WMI. Disk performance information simply isn't available for Windows nodes via SNMP.

Are all APEs on the same subnet?

The certificate must be imported into SAM in PEM format. SAM does not support importing of DER or PKCS formatted certificates. You will need to convert the certificate to PEM format before importing it into SAM.

Indeed that does appear to work. Not sure why I didn't think of that myself. I guess old habits die hard. Thanks for following up on this post.

In the "PowerShell - Exchange URL" field, have you tried replacing the ${IP} macro with the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of your Exchange server? So it reads something like "https://exchange.mydomain.ext/powershell/" then re-running the "Configure Server" process?

We are aware of an issue utilizing AppInsight for Exchange after CU6 has been applied. Please open a case with support so we can notify you as soon as a fix is available. If possible, please post your case number here so I can ensure your case is routed to the appropriate individual.

Do you have any additional polling engines? Does this error only appear when using the Real-Time Process Explorer, Service Control Manager, or assigning templates to nodes that are on one (or more) additional polling engines? Does this error occur when performing those actions on nodes that are managed by the primary Orion…

I believe this is explained in excellent detail in an article referenced here.

I believe the following feature request may be related to what you are trying to accomplish in this thread.

Generally most systems administrators are interested in be alerted to when a scheduled task fails to run properly. This can be easily accomplished with SAM by creating the proper Windows Event Log Monitor, as discussed in the following thread.

What operating system is the machine running that is not properly reflecting the correct warranty date?

Try creating a new, local user account on the machine where the WPM Player is installed, then log into the machine as that user you just created and open Internet Explorer. Without making any further changes, does that user have the ability to access the internet?

This has not as yet been implemented but you can vote for the idea here ->

Indeed. A screenshot of what you're seeing, a detailed description of the problem you're having and what you're trying to accomplish would allow the community to help you better.

My recommendation would be to execute an NCM action when a failover occurs using the Alert Manager.

As a quick update, the JMX Component Monitor is supported on the Linux Agent today.
-
Have you tried running JConsole from the Orion server itself and connecting to the JBOSS remotely? It may be that you are not allowing remote JMX connections in JBOSS or that there is a firewall policy preventing access such as iptables.
-
If there are router access control lists or firewalls in place between these hosts, then it's likely a port blocking issue. WMI uses a broad range of ports and does not work across a NAT as I discuss in the following blog post. *…

Centralized Upgrade is only available in the 2019.2 and later releases, so you will need to upgrade to take advantage of that capability.

On the secondary node the resource groups are expected to be zero, so this threshold can be modified as needed. Typically I use this specific component against only the Cluster VIP node so I'm assured that the active cluster member has at least one or more active resource groups.
