Unfortunately, the Jive platform that Thwack runs on does not allow ideas to be consolidated. At best, we can close the others and hope that people looking for similar functionality don't open a new one.

Have you considered removing the predefined thresholds from the template itself?

This blog post is about migration, not upgrading Orion. Once you've sucsesfully migrated to your new servers, you can being upgrading your envionment.

The easiest way to show this macro's usage was to make a simple modification to an existing script. Below you see the "Statistic.User" statistic is one of multiple metrics being returned in this script. Statistic.System, Statistic.Wait, and Statistic.idle are also returned by the very same script. So each statistic has…

mat12, please follow-up on this thread with your findings. It's been a while since I was the Product Manager for SAM, and it's possible that there are some additional tweaks specific to Exchange that may not be configured by the Remote Execution Enabler for PowerShell free tool. That doesn't however, mean that it can't be…

Two point shout-out! WOOHOO!!

Note this is already possible today in PerfStack and Orion Maps.

What version of Orion Platform are you running? If you're not running 2017.3 SP3, my recommendation would be to upgrade, as there have been fixes to resolve this issue. As stevenwhunt stated, there can many different causes for this issue. If upgrading doesn't resolve the issue, I suggest following the steps outlined in…

This feature was implemented in the Server & Application Monitor 5.5 Release.

This issue was resolved in SAM 6.2.4.

This feature was implemented in SAM 5.5 currently in Release Candidate.

I have logged these as feature requests. Out of curiosity, what kind of information are you looking to monitor on these applications specifically?
-
This is already possible today using Hubble.

AppInsight for SQL Beta 3 does provide visibility into clusters and database mirrors. If you're an existing SAM customer under active maintenance I strongly encourage you to sign-up for the beta and try it out for yourself. We'd really love to hear your feedback on these features.

This issue was resolved in the NPM 12.1 release. At the time of this writing, NPM 12.2 is the latest released version.

I just checked two nodes missing from my report, both had asset inventory checked but they still don't show up in my warranty report. What is the Make, Model, OS, and OS version for the servers that do not appear in your warranty report? I also see that all my vm host hardware does not show up for some reason. They also…

That sounds like a memory leak issue. A 64bit Module Engine process would simply have let the process leak further. While I don't think anyone is opposed to the idea of a 64bit version of Orion. In fact the Job Engine is already 64bit as anyone with SAM can see by editing any assigned application, expanding the "Advanced"…

Certainly! This would need to be part of the script itself and leverage the Orion SDK to update the Custom Property value. Below is a link to examples. Managing Custom Properties · solarwinds/OrionSDK Wiki · GitHub

I would recommend opening a case with support so we can determine where the issue is. We have countless waves of customers which have disabled TLS 1.0/1.1 with NPM 12.1 without issue, so there's something odd going on here for sure.

Well the installer can't make espresso (yet), as a consolation, there is a hidden video game easter egg in the installer for those that can find it

Today SNMP Credentials are inherited from the node they're assigned. This leads us to the following existing feature request:

Negative. The agents are HA aware. Provided any 'Active' agents can reach the new Orion server's IP address when you perform the failover, then there is no need to redeploy agents.
-
Windows XP uses the same codebase as Windows Server 2003, which SAM easily monitors today.

In the unlikely event your alerts no longer work, you can revert back to the legacy Win32 based Advanced Alert Manager. The process returns your alerts to the state prior to migration. That should de-risk any upgrade concerns you might have. I would however wait until NPM 11.5.2 and SAM 6.2.1 are released, since they're…

This is already possible within the product today using the Advanced Alert Manager.

In order to gauge interest in specific Unix operating systems and processor architectures I have created the following feature requests. If you've already voted for this feature request, and have something other than Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Centos, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, etc.) that you would like to see an…

Agents do not install WinPcap unless QoE or NetPath is enabled on those endpoints. There was a defect in NPM's initial release of Netpath which inadvertently enabled WinPcap on all currently deployed agents, but that was subsequently addressed shortly thereafter. I've created a template which removes Winpcap from any Agent…

There is a SAM template available for monitoring iNodes located here > Linux inode Monitor.apm-template Alternatively, this can be monitored over SNMP using the Universal Device Poller by polling OID '1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.9.1.10.1'

I believe what you're looking for is already in the product (pictured below). Clicking "Edit Custom Property Values" takes you to the Volume properties where you can change/modify the custom properties associated with this volume.
