By "site" I'll assume website? You can use SAM's HTTP or HTTPS User Experience Monitors to monitor a website's performance (response time) and availability (up/down) for virtually any URL. SAM includes several out-of-the-box application templates that are pre-built using these component monitor types. They are listed…

The issue appears to be with your selection. You should be choosing "Component" rather than "AppInsight for Exchange" or "Application". The following steps outlined below can be followed to use the Custom Chart resource. Data Source Settings Custom Chart Settings Custom Chart Resource Result

I have not seen this issues yet. Can you open a ticket with support and I'll help get this resolved. Case #43587
-
Skimming through the case notes it looks like the script was corrupted after the upgrade process. Restoring the original script resolved the issue. Is that an accurate synopsis of the case?

This would not be found in the template since this information is not queried (pulled) from the host, rather it's sent from the Linux/Unix host via Syslog or SNMP Traps in a push method. This requires syslog or SNMP Traps be configured on the Linux/Unix host to send those messages to the Orion server. From there you can…

Most of my APC PDU's are Metered. I'm using the Universal Device Poller to pull AMP information.

When modifying custom properties from the "Edit Properties" of a node, submitting changes validates all settings on the page. This includes things like SNMP community strings, and WMI credentials. Unfortunately, when the node is "down" and not responding, this takes an extended period before it times out. You can however…

Have you tried stopping the Windows Firewall service on that machine and see if that resolves the problem?
-
I've logged this as a feature request. We're tracking this internally as FB110426.

You can't exclude a database from being monitored since it has no concrete association to a given instance of an application or a node given the nature of how a DAG works. You can however remove any thresholds related to a specific mailbox database so it does not result in alerts being generated based on thresholds being…

Presumably each website behind the load balancer has a VIP on the BigIP device. You should apply SAM's SSL Certificate Expiration Date Monitor to each VIP on the BigIP device that map to web server cluster members servicing the website or web based applications.

Hardware health information is available via WMI as well as SNMP. In fact in virtually all cases more information is available via WMI than SNMP.

I've logged the PERC RAID Controller Battery monitoring feature request and it's now being tracked internally as FB114150

Andy's proposed solution was no different than the one I posted. The only real solution to your proposed implementation is to pass a generic, limited access account username and password in the URL string as stated in the Administrators guide. Since it sounds like the intention of this page is to have…

Have you tried using on the the following application templates depending if the application runs on Linux/Unix or Windows? * Log Parser (PowerShell) * Log Parser (Perl)

If the URL resolves to a host or node that's not managed by SAM, or that you don't care to manage via SNMP/WMI/ICMP then yes. You will want to add an external node so the component can be associated with some type of node object. External nodes can be named virtually anything as they're merely placeholders for the…

There is currently no SWIS verb to globally disable HA. Currently, these SWIS verbs exist only at the individual pool level.

That screenshot alone is not going to tell me why the server is in a critical state but I would recommend clicking on the Health tab to find out why.

Please sign-up to participate in the SAM 5.2 beta here. We've made some improvements to make this information more useful and accessible.

Another option is to use AppInsight for SQL against the SQL instance your Orion server uses.
-
All of the necessary OIDs are contained in the UnDP. It should simply be a matter of copying and pasting them into SAM SNMP Monitors.

Alternatively you could script this yourself using an SSH PowerShell cmdlet -> PowerShell Magazine » Posh-SSH: Open Source SSH PowerShell Module

If you've already changed the Application Template to use the 64bit worker process, then the issue is likely the ODBC connection string that needs to be modified. The templates have been created specifically to work with 32bit ODBC drivers.

teja0909, do you own High Availability licenses or are you evaluating HA in your environment?

AppInsight's Zero Config requires access via SMB/CIFS to the administrative share to copy over a configuration script which configures WinRM automatically for you. If that protocol is blocked (can't map a drive to the administrative share on that computer from the orion server) then your only option is to configure WinRM…

SAM 5.2 and greater include a 64bit Job Engine for polling. It's typically only used for collecting information from 64bit systems where 32bit counters may not always work. You can however, assign almost any application to use the 64bit Job Engine from within the application editor using the "Platform to run polling job"…

If you can see the Performance Counter the template is trying to monitor in Perfmon.exe remotely (using Perfmon.exe on the Orion server connecting to the remote host) then rebuilding the performance counters will unlikely resolve the issue. It doesn't hurt to try, but I would say the odds are not in your favor. It's much…

The template you attached was not included in APM 4.2. It may be from a previous version of APM. I've attached the updated Apache template from APM 4.2 which does not use SNMP to gather its statistics.

From the Application Summary View (click Application tab) expand the AppInsight for SQL branch from the "All Applications" resource. Continue to expand the branch of the server which is reporting something as being "down". This is the solid red circle icon in the screenshot you provided above. Follow the sub-branches of…
