Hi, In the Orion Universal Device Poller Utility if you right-click on your Poller and select Label, does it give the options you need? Thanks, Yann

I have a MAC Address Discovery tool but can't figure out how to change the local subnet on it. The Tool can only send ARP requests on the network you are connected to. ARP/RARP requests cannot cross routers. If you wish to analyze another subnet, plug your computer in that subnet. If you have multiple NICs, you should see…

I guess Orion mapped the device to Cisco as it cannot map the device OID to a specific model. The SysObject ID of your new model is probably not in the database. You might want to add a comment about your issue in the following thread: "Tell us your "Unknown" devices!" Thanks, Yann

Hi, If the information is available through SNMP, you could create UnDP(s) to retrieve it. There is a list of supported MIB by the AS/400 SNMP agent in the below document, chapter 9: http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/sg244504.html I do not have an AS/400 to test it. Usually applications are listed in the following MIB…

Hi, Not sure if that will help, but you can edit a map resource to modify its scale and thus reduce/increase its size. Login as an admin, Click Edit on the top right of the Map resource. Modify the Scale from - 10% to 250% . HTH, Yann

Hi, Developers are aware of this issue. Please open a support ticket so that you will get a notification when the fix will be out. Provide the URL of this thread as well in your case. Thanks, Yann For internal folks: TT #12447

Hi, A solution could be to monitor the following WMI Performance Class: Win32_LogicalDisk: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa394173(VS.85).aspx Network mouted drives have the DriveType set to 4. From there you can create a Windows Script Monitor that checks if the drive is listed. If the drive is listed then set…

Hi, NTA logs are stored in the \Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\NetFlowTrafficAnalysis\swdebug.log.X files . They should contain errors about the NetFlow Maintenance. If not it is possible increase the logging level of the NTA module \Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\LogAdjuster.exe and increase the 'NetFlow Database…

Hi, Since this is an advanced SQL Report, you will need to edit the SQL Query. Open the Report in Report Writer. Click on The SQL Tab and add the following line just before the ORDER BY Statement: WHERE Nodes.Caption='Node-Name' Node-Name is the name of your single device. ON (Interfaces.InterfaceID =…

Hi, I doubt this is possible to list multiple configurations as NCM will save the file once it gets the prompt back and then disconnects. You can however try to modify the template and run some tests. Templates are saved in \Program Files\SolarWinds\Configuration Management\DeviceTypes\ . You can find a document there to…

Hi Eric, I found that one http://www.balabit.com/network-security/syslog-ng/central-syslog-server/ibm-system-i/ It looks like the open source free version does not support AS/400, only the commercial fork (premium edition). I have never had to install a syslog agent on AS/400 so I cannot give you a feedback on it. HTH, Yann

This can happen if you previously selected these interfaces and removed them from the NetFlow sources. They are probably still listed in the NetFlowSources table although they are disabled. I advise you to open a support ticket and send the diagnostics in order to figure out how to safely purge this table. HTH, Yann

This error means that the website cannot contact the Solarwinds Module Engine service. Could you check that the service is started? Start > All Programs > Solarwinds Orion > Advanced Features > Orion Service Manager.

Hi, The only thing lacking is to inject the condition (ApplicationRestarts > 10) into the above mix. Neither Orion or nor APM know this variable. An advanced alert configured through the wizard will not let you compute a such value based on NPM events. A solution would be to setup a Windows Script monitor that checks the…

Hi, If you set the "Allow Account to Customize View" to yes for a normal user (non admin), he will be able to edit the resources in the views. If a user already has the "Allow Administrator Rights" set to yes, setting the above parameter to No will have no effects. HTH, Yann

Hi Rajiv, Could you detail a little bit more what you are trying to achieve? If you need to build a SSH server, you can give a try to OpenSSH: http://www.openssh.com/ Do you need to gather logging information from all your devices? If this is the case, did you have a look at the Syslog features of your devices? Thanks in…

Hi, 1- Which one is the closest to the real values noticed on the device? I would preferably trust the WMI Performance Counters as Microsoft populates most of the information through that interface/protocol and neglects their SNMP mibs. 2- If the WMI queries run by APM needs to list huge amount of instances on a WMI class…

Hi, The Time of Day tab in the advanced alerts will let you define this "down window" each night. In your first alert being used by the other nodes add an alert suppression to not trigger anything for the two nodes that needs to reboot. Create a second alert dedicated to the two servers with the specific time of day range…
