  • We just ran into this issue once again after installing a new UPS system. Having this feature will be highly appreciated. Regards, Dirk
  • I'd like to have that feature too. Regards Dirk
  • It might be better to use KYOCERA Corporation as Vendor because that is used in SNMP for all of their printers. Dirk
  • This is what I am currently doing. I thought there might be a better solution for Aruba since it is better integrated than other wireless solutions. So I leave it as it is. Regards Dirk
  • Here we go. Unfortunately it's missing the tabs here. You need to install Perl on your management server. We run this script every ten minutes by using a scheduler software like AutoTask (www.cypressnet.com/.../autotask.htm) or the Windows scheduler. Regards Dirk ##################################################### #…
  • We are using a Perl script that runs every ten minutes on a Win2003 server to check the most important services. This script sends out mails and SMS if a service fails. Let me know if you want a copy. Dirk
  • A few months ago, I wrote to SolarWinds: I would like to monitor one of our web servers. The service is called w3svc. This service has a process called svchost. Using tasklist /svc, I was able to retrieve the PID for the w3svc service. However, when marking this specific process in the Application Monitor, all svchost…
  • Yes, this is my experience too. The v7 web interface runs slower and opening maps and pages takes longer than before. When I noticed this for the first time, I backed up my database and re-installed the server from scratch. This did not help either. Regards Dirk
  • I have installed Orion NPM on the G: drive of our server. When we used the MSDE, the databases were stored on the G: drive as well. This all worked out of the box with no further tricks. Regards Dirk
  • Before people having the same trouble I had switch to Windows Server 2003, here is what SolarWinds support says after I sent my solution to them. Orion NPM is not supported on Windows 2003. Aside from the known website issue, there are also issues with SNMP polling. They recommend using Windows 2000 SP4. Dirk
  • Now I am able to re-produce the problem. I have two users Admin and Guest. Both have no password. Admin has the default home page. Guest has the top ten home page which includes the map. When logging on as Admin, I get the home page and then click on top ten. Now I have my map as a red cross. Refreshing the pages shows the…
  • I do neither get a red cross nor an "error 500". "Show friendly HTTP errors" is switched on. The map on my top 10 page is displayed as a white rectangle and the browser is loading forever. The web interface then is not responding anymore. I can even not logout. Restarting the browser does not help. I have to restart the…
  • The volume index seems to be some sort of internal drive numbering. I get the same message when connecting an external hard disk to the usb port of the server. Regards Dirk
  • I want to bring this up again. Have there been any improvements in Orion NPM meanwhile? Regards Dirk
  • You can share your local clipboard with your server by using ClipBook. - Just run clipbrd from Run... command in the start menu. - Paste the local clipboard into a clipbook. Give a name and select "share now". - Run clipbrd on your server and connect to your client. - Paste the remote clipbook into your servers clipboard.…
  • I just found support.solarwinds.net/.../ProblemDetail.cfm This solves it. Regards Dirk
  • I just upgraded from 7.8.2 to 7.8.5. Now I am getting this 429 error too when running the configuration wizard. Neither adding the wizard to the DEP exceptions nor using DEP for essential Windows programs and services only helps to fix it. Are there any other solutions? Dirk
  • quote:Is there a updated single file that we can download so that one doesnt need to download the whole 140 Mb file? This is one of my wishes too. Having the SQL server and Orion on different files would make a difference. Dirk
  • I am now on 7.0.302 and everything is fine. Both interface and volume charts are working. Dirk
  • I have upgraded to 7.0.298 and have the same trouble. So 7.0.130 did not really seem to solve it. Last night, I downloaded the latest build and have installed this one. However, it's asking for a new license key and I have to wait for another six hours to get this one for further testing. I wish SolarWinds had someone in…
  • Unfortunately, there is currently no way to monitor network services like DNS or HTTP. The Application Monitor allows process monitoring only. This way you see that a web server process is up but you can't tell that port 80 is serviced. Regards Dirk
  • .1.3.6.1.4.1.1347.41 Kyocera Mita FS-3920 Regards Dirk
  • I am running it on Windows Server 2003 for a couple of weeks now. It's working. Dirk
  • I am not that familiar with Linux but the first question seems to be: Is SNMP running on your Linux box?
  • Just found it myself. Top XX Lists | Universal Device Poller Top XX.
  • You need to create an Universal Device Poller and use that with your devices. Then you are able to monitor the temperature and use it for alerting. For HP switches, the chassis temperature is OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.99.1.1.1.4.11. Regards, Dirk
  • You mean you opened the web console, went to the Admin menu and clicked on Customize Views? Then you selected Application Details. Or did you try it another way? Dirk
  • I am looking forward to the calculation feature as well since our Foundry switches return the temperature in 0.5 degree steps. Dirk
