  • Not that I've seen. I have had to expand IPAM on my own - features like this subnet search, quick-edit of Subnets/Supernets to quickly and easily modify names and descriptions, etc etc. I understand there are a lot of features people are asking for - but these are some pretty basic things - being able to search for a…
  • Right. Exactly. My query is great and all, but only works for me, and is a pain to use. Which means, it's useless for the most part. You can't have others modifying the SQL query as a way for this to work. I'm thinking of writing another text box search to fix this. Will update if I make progress.
  • IPAM search is horrific. Completely useless in my view. It doesn't have to be, which is the really confusing part. I often assign an office IP range (a /22 for example) and don't have any hosts - either because the office isn't live yet, I don't need the details, or other reasons... but can I search for…
  • Like - can you search for subnet / supernet descriptions in IPAM? Not to my knowledge. I'm still on 4.5,and use my search tool, which is OK, to be honest.. .because I have a search bar on my network team portal that allows you to search and find things without going to the tool. But still crazy they don't allow a search in…
  • All, I've created a new post for how I've fixed this search in my company. IPAM Search - Extensions For You This is a broken down version of what I've done, but basically this will allow you to search for Display Name and Descriptions. Then, shows you the results and allows you to click on those results and it will take…
  • So, this was from 2013. I realize this may not get a response, but this is one of my biggest complaints about IPAM. Has this been addressed? If so, I don't see where to fix this annoying layout.
  • Agree. While the code I posted works well, this isn't really a solution, but a band-aid. It doesn't have to be this way - not sure why this search hasn't been implemented correctly within the app.
  • I sure wish you'd change company policy and say "Yes, it's terrible. We are going to fix this in the next version". Honestly, it's a glaring over site, has been for a long time, and it's not like your competitors would gain anything by finding out you're fixing some basic missing functionality.
  • This is unbelievable. It's why I wanted to put IPAM on a separate server from the rest of my install - I knew this would happen. SW - your IPAM needs a LOT of work. I have to write python scripts to create multiple supernets (for some reason you have a subnet creation wizard but not supernet creation wizard)? Your sorting…
  • What about separate values: "# of Running" "# of Idle"
  •  Was there any resolution to this? I'm getting similiar issues with our ServerTech Power Towers (remote control PDUs). It works fine in Telnet (was able to edit the Device Command Template) , but not in SSH. I get connection refused.
  • This also happens when I run a script and type these commands: set length 0 sh running set length 0 Screen length for this session set to 0. dazphx-c124as01> () sh running This command shows non-default configurations only. Use 'show config all' to show both default and non-default configurations. ...............…
  • I was able to get the HA to work, but as the diagram above indicates, with only one SQL server. Not sure (other than doing backups) how to replicate this data. And if the main SQL database goes down, so does all the monitoring... so while it's a High Availability monitor, its not quite where it should be. --Just an update.…
  • I am having similiar issues with my Cat2948G switches. They get as far as "set password (*#&$(*#&$(*#&" then stop for some reason. This has been working for years, and stopped suddenly on 3/16. I *did* make a change to the file at that time, but have backed out the change and still have the same issues when downloading the…
  • So... This was an enhancement request in 2009. Has this been incorporated yet in IPAM 2.0.1? I cannot seem to figure this out and in desperate need. Thanks, Ron
  • Did this get resolved? I'm having similiar issues with Cisco 2948G switches once I upgraded them to SSH. I've tried editing the devicetype file, but still no worky. Thanks, --Ron
  • YES! Is there any documentation on how to actually set this up? It looks like (from the diagram): Separate SQL server - which is fine Primary Orion Server (SLX) is also the primary web server Failover is running standby engine with additional web server? No ability to do SQL replication, other than to use it simply as…
  •  Not sure if this is what this should look like or how it is supposed to be implemented. Can someone please comment? I seem to recall the diagram looking something like this (click on jpg below)
  • I totally agree with this. We actually purchased a 100 user license just for this purpose. Seemed a bit expensive for a test system, but give how complex the software has become, and how important it is to our environment, we couldn't just upgrade without testing first.
  •  Strange, though... that others are seeing the same numbers come up. I'll load a sniffer to see if I get a return from the device of 3billion, but something tells me this is a bug of some sort. Too strange that we'd all come up with the same sort of number. This number just suddenly appears, and is not a cumulative number.
  •  I actually did open a ticket and got a decent response. They gave me a document that helped troubleshoot many different things and helped guide you where to look. Basically, you are right about the NetFlow piece. I had a table called "netflowsummary2" that had 846 million rows, and the table itself was 92 gig. The Average…
  • I'm not seeing these options under "Servers" -- Just Stop/Start services, Configure Hot Standby, Poller Loadbalancing. 9.5slx. ???
  •  Now that you mention it, yeah, ours was the same process that got out of control. We could always shut down the Orion services and start them back up again, and things seemed to get better. Of course, we would always reboot just to be safe, however.
  • I have not installed the NCM module and still happens with me. -- just an fyi
  •  Wow. Seriously, I love this web site. Thanks for the quick response, it fixed my problem
  • It is browser specific. Odd. IE and Chrome seem to display it properly, but Firefox does not. (3.6.8). There were no errors on the firefox browser. I'll be honest, I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't check other browsers... I should know better.
  • wow... sorry for the late response. I'm guessing you found something else to work or abandoned this... but yeah, I had to create a connection string on the server to the database.
  •  This is what is so odd. Solarwinds used to have a document with an actual diagram on what servers were needed, and how the front end interacts with the back, etc. and now, like Kaiser Soeze, it's just gone. I don't know if it was actually in the documentation or on the web site. It may have been on the marketing part of…
  • wasn't able to find either of these keys in the config files. Are you saying ADD these keys?
  • I tried this and it didn't work. My ticket has been open for over a month. I'm a month behind on documenting subnets. NOT GOOD
