I agree entirely, it seems like this has been idea was discussed before (I see posts dating back to 2012), but it always gets thrown out. Having the ability to add new tabs, and re-name existing tabs is a must have feature. Right now in order to get something for our messaging team I have to add in 3 or 4 new views, and…

I RSVP'd for the live demo about a week before, then again twice on the 17th (once prior to the start time and a second time after the start time). I never received the invite to the meeting until today (Monday, 7/20/2015). Hope these issues are worked out in the future, kind of dissapointed I couldn't attend.

Unfortunately I couldn't read the survey results for todays question (July 24th), as Slideshare is blocked at work. I was able to guess the answer correctly though!

A widescreen monitor, phone, and a number of comedic-relief pieces (comic strips, funny cards, etc.). Other than that, I have a pretty barren desk! Just ignore the chain that keeps me locked down here...

Without IT Pros none of the usual problems would be fixed, which would result in everything breaking down for, essentially, everyone. This in turn would result in most technology ceasing to work. Most of the population today is so reliant on technology that it would literally set us back to the Dark Ages, with 80-90% of…

The role of a SysAdmin has definiltely changed over the past 10 years, along with technology and computer systems in general. I feel that SysAdmin's have been asked to handle more and more tasks over the past years that are diverging from what most folks would consider the role of a SysAdmin, as companies expect everyone…

Thanks, Maria. I'll definitely let you know if it happens in the future.

This is really a necessary feature. I'm not sure why you can select something as "required" but have it populate with no values during scheduled discoveries. Also, this would save a lot of time, and frustration, as it adds additional steps if anyone adds anything to monitoring, and critical custom properties do not get…

One of my biggest terrors was working with the some folks from the engineering team at one of my jobs. They would constantly make changes without going through an approval/change process, and most of the time they would download huge install files and proceed to save gig's of log data. This would be all fine and dandy, but…

Thanks a ton, zackm and bluefunelemental! Both of these queries do exactly as I needed. Those "select" within "select" statements always threw me for a loop! I greatly appreciate you guys helping with this. Cheers, Steven M.

We are running in a Windows 2k8 R2 environment, with NPM 11.5.1 and SAM 6.2.0; last Friday (July 10th, 2015) we saw this same situation on one of our APE's (Additional Polling Engine). Early in the AM we started receiving a bunch of false alerts for applications going down, and later in the day when I was able to look into…

Hi zackm, thanks for the reply! However, the query you provided is going to list any servers that have a C:\ OR a D:\ drive already. I need to list any servers that are missing either a C:\ or D:\ drive. For example, ServerX has a C:\ drive, but no D:\ drive being monitored. With your query, it will not provide ServerX in…

Hi Alex, It would be great to know what products & versions you are running when you implemented these various scripts. That way if there are changes in the future versions to these tables it is easier to identify what version might have made the change. Love these articles, they're very insightful! Thanks, Steven

Hi h100rr, I'm no expert, but at the bottom of your error log it says "Access to the path 'C:\InetPub\SolarWinds\WebEngine\Resources\common' is denied.". Have you checked the permissions for the account you used to do the upgrade? I also recommend checking out the anti-virus exclusions KB, and ensuring you have those in…
