But, wouldn't I be able to do that if I move NPM and the modules? SQL would be the only thing left on the current server. Thanks!

I'm not sure... the trap details look like this: sysUpTime=52 days 7 hours 51 minutes 36.15 seconds snmpTrapOID=SNMPv2-MIB:authenticationFailure experimental.1057.1=x.x.x.x snmpTrapEnterprise=MSFT-MIB:dc

It's an HP DL380

Are there any example scripts (batch or vb)? I'm sending ${MESSAGE} to a test batch script and I'm getting "SNMP Trap" being sent to my script (%1 and %2)...almost completely useless.
-
Yes, we know what device is causing it. The server itself doesn't seem to be showing any errors though. Could it be SNMP failures, or does it sound like the server is getting many, many failed logins?
-
Is this a current list? The default message that comes up when you add an email action to the alert uses variables called ${datetime}, ${MESSAGETYPE}, and ${MESSAGE}. Are there others like those? Thanks!
-
No, unfortunately the remote sites that have the 4500s are all switch-based. --Steve
-
Thank you... I've just turned that on. Hopefully, that was the problem. Thanks again! --Steve

I see... I just wanted to make sure installing SNMP was our only option before I pressed the issue.
-
OK... I'll do that now. Thanks!

Is there any solution for 8.51? Unfortunately, our maintenance contract expired last June and I'm not sure if we'll be able to renew it any time soon. Thanks! --Steve

Through some experimentation, it looks like it's trying to work now. It's taking a really long time though and usually timing out if I try testing against the directory we're interested in. This directory normally has tens of thousands of files in it. The monitor appears to be looping through an enumeration of the…

OK, I've gone ahead and opened a ticket... thanks for everybody's replies

Yes, this seems like it should be very helpful. I'm trying to get this report set up now. The problem I'm having is that it generates rather a lot of records, over 10k. I'm trying to set it up so that it's a little more manageable. Any ideas? Thanks!

The batch file is currently on C:\, but I can try it in \Windows\System32. The script does get executed every time, but it doesn't seem to be getting all the data I've like it to. I'm passing ${MESSAGETYPE} ${MESSAGE}... is that what you're using?
-
Have you implemented something like this? I'm still not sure how it's possible.. Thanks!
-
I've got version 1.0.6.23, copyright 2009. Is there a newer version that should have been installed when I upgraded to NPM 10.0?
-
The problem is the links look like: file:///NetPerfMon/View.asp?View=NodeDetails&NetObject=N:4 instead of: orionmachine/.../View.asp I don't have Orion installed locally on my desktop machine. As for the SQL error, the database should have data for the current month. I've noticed: Total Bytes Transferred by Node - This…

I'd like to avoid that if I could... I'm just not sure what else to try at this point.
-
I think we resolved that issue. In our case, we had several sites that had a fairly large amount of outgoing traffic. When the networks at those sites were in active use, the incoming traffic to the site outweighed that outgoing traffic. During times when the networks were idle for long periods during the month (the sites…

I'm not sure... how would I tell? Could it just be a problem with the two interfaces being polled at separate times?
-
Yes, all of those work (except for IP_Address, but IP works). So, there's no way to get the Interface name? Will that be available in a future version? Is there a list of macros that work in Trap Viewer alerts? Thanks!
-
Is there any way to fix it?
-
I rebooted and it seems OK now. I didn't see a message to do that after the upgrade. Thanks!
-
I see... I'll have to try that. It should be handy. Is there anything to do when you don't know the port? The reason this topic came up was we had some remote sites that seemed to have an inordinate amount of outgoing traffic (and some at a time when the sites should have been nearly empty). Thanks for the suggestion,…
