Are you at a menu when the CTRL-S is required? If so, try setting the prompt in the variations to be the last few characters returned in the menu. Steve

Hi Evan, I'd need to get some CatTools diagnostics from you to see what is happening on your devices. Can you raise a support ticket please and ask support to escalate to me as you have spoken with me here on thwack. Thanks, Steve
-
Hi Ben, Thanks for posting back with the confirmation that upgrading resolved the problem. It will still be useful for other thwack users who may be having the same issue with a Nortel 450. Regards, Steve

Vineeth, For the Fortinet script, CatTools will also attempt to turn off the paging prompts (as it does for the Cisco's) to prevent it from hanging when the data is being received. For Fortinet, CatTools will issue the set output standard command. In order to issue this command, CatTools first needs to get the device into…

About mid-way down the page: http://www.solarwinds.com/company/contact.aspx There are different contact numbers depending on which geographical region you are in, else use the email link. Let Sales know you are evaluating the product and are encountering this issue. Regards Steve

Hi Keith, I would be very interested to hear what Microsoft come back with. Please may I ask you post any updates you have on this issue as it will be of real benefit to the CatTools community. Thanks, Steve

Hi MCMurphy, I've passed this on to the Orion CORE team to look into as this issue isn't specifically related to User Device Tracker functionality, its related to a core component of Orion. At first glance it tends to point to a device issue in that the device is sending back an incorrect get-response to a set-response…

Hi Arshad, You may be able to do this already by creating a 'Device.CLI.Send commands' activity. See the online help file page: http://www.kiwisyslog.com/help/cattools/act_devclisendcmd_howtodwnload.htm The example in the above link demonstrates how to do this for a Cisco IOS device. You should really just need to change…

RE> On another note, when making API calls, do we need to ensure the timer is stopped? We're wondering about this since when working with the UI, you need to stop the timer before the bottom toolbar (Add, Edit, Remove, Copy, etc) becomes available Because the CatTools API is directly modifying the data in the CatTools…
-
Lee, Glad you've got the API working. Currently the API will only work on updating devices or device related data. There are no activity related public classes available within the API to modify activities. When you say you want to use the API to modify a Device.CLI.Send commands activity, are you wanting to modify the…

You should be able to setup your ASA as follows: In the Passwords tab: Add your SSH credentials to the SSH Username and SSH Password fields. * Add the Enable password to the Enable Password field. Add the enable privilege level (i.e. 2) to the Privilege Level field. That should do the trick! * Note: SSH Username and SSH…

You are welcome. So this did fix the problem - right?

Hi Gabriel, Which version of CatTools are you running? The Device.Backup.TFTP activity was added back in v3.4.0. Note: not all device types support this activity, although Cisco.Router.General and Cisco.Switch.IOS support I believe was in v3.4.0. Refer to our online device matrix for supported device types. Regards, Steve

Can you try connect using SSH1 to see if that works too?
-
Hi jfitzell, Can you confirm which Windows O/S are you running CatTools on please? Thanks, Steve.

Hi Sean, Looks like the displaying of Hostnames in the Port History resource does indeed have a problem. Thanks for pointing this out to us. With regards to the 2nd issue, if you haven't already done so, can you raise a support ticket for this as we'll need to get some diagnostics from you. Thanks, Steve
-
Could you expand on what you are trying to achieve and I'll see if I can come up with some suggestions for you. Regards, Steve

What about "no cli more"? Some vendors use the 'no' variant to disable.
-
Achu, For HP switches, we used to suggest reconfiguring the device to automatically enter CLI mode by doing the following: - go to command line - type 'setup' - under Logon Default set to CLI - save changes You may want to see if this works on your HP device? Steve

Hi Kate, It looks like your Cyclades device is returning just a carriage-return line feed after connection; which I'm guessing then requires you to press the <enter> key before you receive back the Cyclades hostname prompt. Would this be correct? If so, then neither the v3.6.0 script or the modified one I attached above…

You are very welcome Chris. Steve

Hi Arlo, It may be difficult to tell when the ARP report corruption occurred if you are appending to the report rather than overwriting it each time (i.e. whether the 'Overwrite existing report file' option is ticked in the Activity tab of the activity setup form). Now that he bad data has been removed from the report, I'd…

We leave things like this commented out in the custom device template as they may not apply to your device. Glad you got it working though.... nice work.
-
Sorry, I was meaning on the actual device itself when you log in to the device manually (using say PuTTY).
-
Yeah, ignore that list in the Help documentation. I noticed this was way out of date too recently and so raised an internal ticket to get it updated for the next release. For a full list of devices for the current release, refer to the Supported Devices web page. With respect to the "Optional alternative list of commands"…

Did it work when substituting the BS450Config.cfg filename with the text %ctDeviceName.txt though (i.e. to test using the CatTools device filename as the TFTP filename)? Steve

dclick-- In the toolbar of the Search Results grid itself, you should find several buttons. One is the 'Export as File' option which will export your current search results to a CSV file. NOTE: at present this exports ALL records in every page of your search results; not just the current displayed page (or even selected…

Hi caleyjay7-- I noticed you uploaded your script under the NCM product, but posted in the CatTools forum that it is available. May I just verify with you if the template of for NCM or CatTools please? Thanks, Steve
