good article. we are slowly moving certain things into the cloud. We had a previous management team that wanted everything in the cloud but no clear idea of why. it is no wonder to me why they were the 'previous' team....

Also no pie at the first Thanksgiving. I would be okay with no turkey (IF there was actually lobster), but no pie?!?

Good stuff. Yes, you can have employees or you can have security, but you can't have both! And encryption is hard! jetsons's car - YouTube

Don't need to hire an evil clown. Just sent the picture you posted to my wife (I may be sleeping in the garage tonight!) Thanks sqlrockstar for making the day fun!

I love Florida Man! Google search "florida man" + your birthday for some interesting fun!

Excellent set of articles. I especially liked the story on raw water. The Rainbow manager describing the taste like he was drinking a finely crafted brew. "Nothing that overwhelms the flavor profile" .... it has always been my opinion that if water has a taste, there is something wrong with it! I, like sparda963, grew up…

It would be.....quiet (after that initial scream, that is).

Splashee! nice. As for Star Trek... I just want doors that make that cool swish sound when they open.

I enjoyed this post. I have been doing this IT stuff for coming up on 40 years and still love those AHA! days.

Excellent article. I have shared this with my colleagues in IT. And something I learned from my father is that while the customer may not always be right, they are always the customer. You either satisfy them, or find new ones.

Many years ago while working at a Printing company, our cable plant was Thin-net (co-ax cable with T-connectors for each pc). Things were going great for awhile, then one day at about noon, the entire west end of the very large building went down. Started trouble-shooting and suddenly about a half-hour later the network…

Most of our old tech goes to a recycler (after being wiped of course), but some gets donated to various places to use as lab/learning equipment. Some of it I dismantle and use it for various art projects. We tend to use our equipment long after any vendor will give us credit on an upgrade.

I have seen multiple clues for today's question, but it really is up to one's interpretation as I have not found a definitive answer for all of the options listed. As others have commented, you could infer that all the answers are correct but there is nothing in any of the clues that actually confirm or deny several of…

The red ones are the fastest, but if I give them good advice right away, they will come back and ask about printers....

One of my co-workers got to go to Ignite this year. Guess I will have to wait for BrainShare....

I really appreciate the articles, especially the positive ones. Please keep it up!

In my experience it is always best practice to check the basic stuff first, regardless of which system/process. If these things are not where they are supposed to be, you can fine tune all day and still have the same result. Rebuilding your carburetor to get better gas mileage won't help much if all your tires are flat.

good luck maria.bungau, hope your next adventure is as good as this one was!

Finally, a reason to get out the D&D dice!
