This is still I problem for me. I run the lastest updates last night, and after they finished, it took 50 minutes for many (250 or so) agents to reconnect. So a fix has been in the works for a year. Any update?

Orion needs to be able to reach the switch by IP. So, your Orion server is 192.168.1.100. Your switch much have an IP that is reachable for Telnet/SSH and n this case, SNMP. It doesn't have to be on a "management" interface, but it has to be reachable on the network. Any IP on a VLAN will likely work.

Have you tried adding all the SNMP OIDs in the Universal Device Poller? Orion can then poll them and store the data for you at intervals of your choice. Plus, once they are all in there on one node, you can apply them to all the power meters. You can even do conversions on the data. What I do not know how to do is export…
